i wouldn't care if the mac made commercials to advertise their stuff and NOT being ignorant about it. Show me any computer at all that CANNOT get a virus, sorry to say it but macs can too.

I don't know if anyone has caught this.... but mac's have been dissing themselves for a long time.

BECAUSE PC stands for personal computer, and what is a mac? it is a personal computer. Now that they have gone two years saying "Mac Vs. PC" they can't change it now.

They should've said "Mac Vs. Windows"

another mac fail

Exactly. I hate thoes commercials to. Any computer can get a virus. Plus pc has more options and i highly doubt all macs have large screens and are fast. Sorry but PC's win.

Before people start attacking:

I respect the fact that you would like a mac over a windows computer, because its a personal choice, but the commercials are so ignorant, which is where i have the problem.

I love how they're progressively making the mac asshole more and more dressed up like the PC.

Besides I still think the entire ad campaign is a failure and needs to be discontinued since multiple people I know think the PC comes off as "cute".

^[lol] "maybe you can make him one of those cool videos..."

I'm so god damned tired of people choosing Mac over PC. They all do the same things, just in different ways. And if any average user decided to put even a little effort into learning how a computer works instead of just using it for what it can do, which is not hard at all considering it can all be found on the internet, people might then see that it's complete bullpoop to pay twice as much for half the specs and a look.

Not to mention...

Anyone notice how they're making PC's hairline retreat to make up for having to make mac get more dressed up?

I have a friend who was a PC guy, he then bought a Mac and told me "It's perfect." I said "I don't like Mac's" he said "Why." I said "I feel that they dumb people down" he laughed, I looked at him and said "Can you change the color of the Dock." Similar to how you can change the color of a theme in Windows, he said "What's the Dock?" That was enough for me.

For some people the mac is better for them, I tried to use a mac once and it was harder and the desktop is really weird for me.

The only thing i truly hate is the commercials, and how big the mac ego is.

Just saying

Before I start, please know that I am FAR from computer illiterate, in fact I consider myself quite educated in the field of computers, although by no means an expert.

I own a Windows and a Mac, and use both of them regularly, and while the Windows can do things that the Mac can't (mostly NL: yes, I know there's a mac version, but I already bought the Windows version), I much prefer the mac. It's smaller, and definitely faster (my PC was a $300 middle-line computer when I bought it-no, I didn't build it, and the mac is a $400 mid-line 1st gen mac mini), and the UI is a hell of a lot cleaner than the Windows is. My favorite thing about it is the dock, because I almost always have programs I'm running maximized and can't reach the desktop shortcuts, so extra keystrokes and mouse movements are required to get to the program I want, whereas on a mac, one click and I'm there. Second, I am a sucker for animations, so the mac's "genie" animation when you close a window really draws me in. Third, there are simply too many options on a Windows computer. I recently bought a new graphics card for my Windows machine, and it took a week to find the best one. A day later I went in for more memory. That took an hour. Granted, I wouldn't even have the option to do this if I were on a mac, but that would have saved me a TON of hassle and annoyance. Finally, Apple makes products that outperform anything else in the personal music industry. My iPod Touch, however expensive, is literally hundreds of times better than any other touchscreen device I've messed around with, and even my iPod Mini I had before it kicked all other mp3 players' butts. The only problem was that they were compatible with only - yup, you guessed it - macs. However, I will be the first to admit that old Windows computers are wayyyy better than old macs, but that all changed in the past few years. For the most part, I agree with the claim that Macs are for artists and the like, but not entirely. My dad's not an artist, heck he's about as un-artistic as they come (a computer science professor), but he LOVES macs. In fact, he was actually pretty reluctant to get me a Windows machine! My personal belief is that Macs are for people who could care less about computer games, and more about easy-to-use, straight-forward productivity. So what if it's dumbed down a little? If I don't need it, why is it there? Your answer to this: "because sometimes you do need it". maybe, but in my opinion not often enough to warrant a readily accessible shortcut to it on my desktop.

There are some other perks of PCs that macs can't match. First, you have a HUGE selection of viruses to choose from (sorry, I had to throw that in there). On a serious note, the compatibility with most things is much greater for PCs than for macs. And if I really cared about Gaming, a PC would definitely be the way to go.

My final point: I'm beginning to notice that there aren't any "you know what really grinds my gears" topics saying that PCs are better than macs.

Well, there you have it, an argument as unbiased as I can make it. I feel like I probably missed a point or two; it's late, and I've been up all day. Feel free to call me out on it. Other than that, enjoy.

^At first that I thought you were the only person to call it a windows machine.... then you used the word PC

Sorry to say it, and I said it earlier in this thread, a mac is a personal computer, a.k.a PC so therefore, mac's are pc's
