By Myriad featuring DCs221
Created January 2006 - August 2007
Revised June 2009
Bigger is not always better. At just over 100 feet tall, Kilo takes riders on an unforgettable experience that rivals the intensity of rides two or three times its size.
Originally designed in 2006, it predated Intamin's Mega-Lite model by two years. With influences ranging from the Intamin rockets (specifically Kanonen and Superman Escape to the rigorous and relentless pacing of S&S Woodies Avalanche and J2, riders slam into Kilo's custom magnetic braking system out of breath and adrenally charged.
This ride is the conception of Myriad and DCs221. We originally set out to stuff a full-sized Intamin experience into a footprint a fraction of its usual size--this includes replicating their immaculate trackwork and supports while going all-out on 3ds extras to bring it as close to perfection as possible. As such, it represents my most extensive 3ds effort to date. Tons of inspired 3ds extras immerse riders in the park atmosphere. Most notable is a stunningly lifelike cable lift that hauls riders to the top of the lift hill before thrusting them headlong into the barrage of forces ahead, modeled after the one on Goliath at Walibi World.
Quotes on Kilo:
"A very good ride, full of adrenaline, surprising directional changes, and with lots of airtime. Reminds me of a mix between Kanonen, Avalanche, and J2."
~ DCs221
"A very together ride, very fast paced and with a well rounded element selection in a very small track length. The good part is that despite the track length, it's constantly giving you fun forces to chew on, so chances are you'd hit the brakes breathless rather than going "that's it?" Good fun stuff."
~ BBSpeed26
"Kilo may be one of the, if not the most, sexiest NL coasters ever created."
~ Jakizle
