If you have this amazing game this is the topic for you to talk about it.

RACING JUST GOT EXCITING AGAIN

I will start:

This game is completely awesome, it is a sim/aracadey racing game. You can race in Open-wheel races, drifting, demolition derby, Pro-Tuned, Pro-Muscle, GT1, GT2, LMP1, LMP2, LMP3, downhill drifts, drift battles, Togue, Pro Touge, Midnight Touge (which is like NFS racing in the Japanese mountains with cars coming at you.), and even De Le Mans 24 hours (shortened to 24 minutes de Le Mans :P) and some other's I cannot even name.

You can customize your cars with sponsors, patterns, paint colors(quite alot of paint colors I might add), Even have your own call-sign, like a nick-name, or even possibly having your names pre-entered into the system, so it's like they are talking to you.

You can have a teammate who can save your ass, win, and even be your biggest rival.

And let's not forget the...

DAMAGE

This game has an amazing damage system that will realistically show damage to your car, if you hit debris in the road the wrong way...you might go rolling, or flipping your car, if you hit things at a strong enough force, you might disable your car, with your wheel shearing off, and your front platstering the crowd, oh and the crowd is interactive. If you hit a wall, they will scream, it's pretty hysterical actually.

Once, I was racing (no sh*t right?), with my teammate in front of me...and he hit a fender piece that sheared off of a car earlier in the race...and his car FLEW, rolling into the air almost like a plane...then he rolled about 3 times when he slammed into the ground finally landing on his wheels and managing to save second place!

Also, there is cock-pit view and as Code-master's showed in DiRT...it is very realistic, showing your feet pounding the gas and brakes, and your hands hammering the steering wheel into chicanes, and the natural shadowing and light affecting your view. Speaking of light and dark, there are races in the day, night, sun-rise, and sun-set, as well as after a rain-storm. And in the Le Mans 24...you will go through a day-period of day-night and then day again in a period of 24 minutes.

There is also the amazing Flashback system that allows you to see and instant-replay of about 8 seconds of the race from the point you pause it, and flashback to that spot of the race, to maybe fix an error you made, or take a turn faster.

I can go on, but I want you guy's to, if you have it, share what you think about it...because I feel it is the best thing since Gran Turismo (well GT is slightly more realistic than this game...but GRID still ties it up), and that's hard to compare to considering I have been a GT fan since GT3 A-spec came out in 01'!

So what do YOU think?

GT5 will own this so bad... this is just yet another unrealistic poorly simulated racing game that is nothing like real life racing.

Codemasters makes GREAT games. Grid is one of the best I have seen. Of course, right after I got it...I got the red ring of death......

Thanks TMV...

we know that GT5 will own it...but WHEN?

They had release dates from last year, to this year, and now it's next year or TBA!

Forza 2, DiRT, and GRID are the best we got right now on Next-gen systems until the mystery of GT5 is finally cleared!

So, this is a topic about a game that came out a year ago...

Anyway, I have GRID and I personally love the realism of it. Unlike NFS's story-line gaming, GRID is just straight-up racing with all the realistic feel. I mean, how many games honestly like GRID can you play? The smallest things affect your car in many different ways!

I love the choice of sponsors and even partners!
Oh, were you expecting something here?

It blends arcade with simulation to make a very nice presentation of a game...and you can't forget the over-the-top crashes!

GRID is a pretty nice game. It's a bit too easy imo. Gran Turismo is over-rated.

Um...name a better racing simulation game to Gran Turismo. (GRID does not count, it's half-and-half)

I've gotta hear this one.

This is obviously about GRID and therefore I will name it as better than Gran Turismo. Forza is also better. And how is GRID half and half?

Gran Turismo has been around for a lot longer and is more well known. It's not better, just more popular. There, you heard it.

yeah mike, you play dirt and love it, and grid is just basically different racing styles. it from the same makers, you might like it. dont trast it before you even play it man. you seem to be like that quite often, lol.

Dirt isn't realistic either. Rally cars that somehow do 0-60 in like 2 seconds? ya right. I never said grid wasn't fun, (yes i have played it) i said it was unrealistic. which is true. And any racing game compared to GT is pretty much unrealistic. GT is labeled as a "driving simulator."

Yet GT is still just as unrealistic as GRID.

^ then apparently you haven't played it a whole lot. I'm sure many people would agree... I'm not trying to start an argument, but for someone who is 15 and doesn't even have a drivers license, don't say you know whats realistic and unrealistic as far as driving goes.

How not? I have a permit and have had it for over 6 months now. I drive everywhere my family goes, so I do know what's realistic and not realistic. So don't judge just by my age.

Anyway, it's your opinion that GT is more realistic, and mine is that it isn't. There... No one's wrong.

Did I say I knew it all? No I didn't. I said I can tell between what's realistic on a video game and what's not. It's plain english.

SAME HERE!

Oh, and Griffon...driving a car at 40mph-60mph. to driving a car at 177mph. braking into a chicane and having to slow down to 40mph. in 4 seconds which you then need to floor the gas heading into a straightaway...is alot different. I have a feeling GT earns it's title...because it IS a driving simulator.

GRID is just fun!

Oh, and it's half-and-half because it blends arcade racing with simulation racing (you still have to know your lines, out to in, then back to out)
But having the arcadey over-the-top crashes like Burnout...well, GRID is in a damage league all of it's own.

Either way...

there you go [:P]

I think both GT and GRID give up something. GT gives up damage, and GRID gives up realistic physics. Personally GRID got boring long after GT did. But these games are so hard to compare because they have different styles. GT is the hardcore racing simulator even though you can bounce off walls. GRID is a game where someone can just pick up and have a great time racing or crashing without actually knowing how to drive. But you have to be able to drive well to play both games at a high level. I don't get why people are comparing them. They had different goals when they were being created.
