Oh, and Griffon...driving a car at 40mph-60mph. to driving a car at 177mph. braking into a chicane and having to slow down to 40mph. in 4 seconds which you then need to floor the gas heading into a straightaway...is alot different.

What does that have to do with anything? And that was an ill-written sentence.

You said you knew that GT's physics are not realistic because you've been driving a stock, street-car for 5-6 months, and know from driving that they are not right. SO, I was saying that comparing turning and driving a car around streets and freeways, to completing tricky circuits in a high-performane race-car; are two completely different things.

You can't really say you know the physics of racing...because you have never done it! You drive your car around the city, or freeway, not gas it around corners, or handle tricky chicanes...get what I am trying to say yet?

GT designers test race-cars (& normal cars) physics on race tracks, it's said many times...so the cars have very realistic physics.

*takes a breath*

It has to do with everything, but it's over anyway.

I've done both fella. My cousin lives in NY and races every weekend. I've had my share of circuit racing. So yes I do know what the difference is. If I didn't, do you really think I would've said that in the beginning? Think.

Also...I wasn't just talking about the movement physics.

Btw, I'm not 10, so don't act like you have to spell it out for me.

Hey "fella" I never said you were 10, i'm 15 as well.

But what I wanna know is - did you actually DRIVE the cars?

Or did you just watch?

I didn't say that you said I was [;)]

And I drove a few.

Yeah... So next time, just get to know me rather than suggest that I don't know what I'm talking about. Thanksya

7, hit a stack of tires which rolled my car in the air thrice, then I landed and rolled on the ground four times!

W00T!

Getting hurt IS fun! [:P]

Ill just echo that GT has never felt that realistic. Certain cars at certain times do but overall Ive never been impressed with GT other than the Graphics. I try to compare all games, physics wise, to the original Indy Car Racing and Nascar games made by Papyrus who were, and still to this day, had the most REALSTIC racing games EVER. Ever try Grand Prix Legends? Holy Hell! (Said like in Liar Liar) Easily the most realistic racing game ever.

Papyrus went to incredible lengths to ensure the experience was as close to the real thing as possible and to this day, even though their stuff was in the early 90's, we havent seen racing games come this close.

I think in part because it would be too hard. 99% of people who played GPL gave it up in 20 minutes. It was just too hard! If you took Nascar 2 or Indy Car Racing 2 and set it to the most difficult settings, it was virtually impossible because whos used to driving those kinds of machines? They were basically spot on.

So far the most realistic complete racing game Ive seen is Forza 2. The physics engine is very good (could be better) but its completed by the vast array of upgrades which vastly affect your car along with the many options to tune. And, the big kicker that IMO set it leagues above GT...DAMAGE MODELING. And not just cosmetic damage, damage to every part of the car from thousands of different ways.

No racing game should call itself a "simulation" without damage. How hard is it to drive around in GT and just push people outa the way without any damage to you? GT turned into a "I wanna model as many cars as best as possible and scratch the actual "realism" part" game. Great to look at, unsatisfying to play.

And with Forza 3 coming out...Im licking my chops. Gonna be sweet.

Grand Prix Legends was certainly the most realistic in it's time, although there were some surprisingly big flaws in it, especially as far as the tire modeling. The total lack of wear modeling, for one. Still, I logged many an hour in that back in the day.

Grid was ok. Dirt was frustratingly sub-par. Great environments and track layouts, let down by typical Codemasters center-point physics. Richard Burns Rally is the only decent rally game to be released in the last few years. Its physics were on the level of GPL.

well, we'll see about GT. Maybe 5 will be a big step up from previous games. if they ever decide to release the damn game...
