First off, I would like to know who thought that this topic was going to be about cereal. Hahaha.

Second off, for those of you who don't know, Fruity Loops Studio is a music generating program, much like garageband for the macintosh. This is basically an alternative to that for us windows users. I just recently downloaded it, and I was curious to know; 1. Who uses it here?, and 2. For those of you who do use it, could you help me out? I guess give me a breakdown of the basic beginners skills?

Let me know!

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

okay, i dont use fruity loops, but it is somewhere on my computer . i majored in computer music , and the concept applies to the type of software i use..
the easiest way to get started it to figure out where things are ..basiaclly its a few ok soft synths and basic sequencers.
to start what you'd want to do is choose the insturments and load them. i'd suggest starting out with a simple fm type preset like a bass or something, i know that fruity loops has been coming with subtractive synth emulations , but that'll get too confusing. once you have chosen the instrument pick a time signature ..in this case everything is preset to 120 bpm in 4/4 which'll work just fine .. in your grid view (which esentially is your seguencer) just light off the beats where you want there to be the sound you want . you can change the resolution to make shorter notes . then choose another sound and repeat, simple stuff.. i had it down pat in about 5 minutes, so i can attest to it's simplicity ..
send me a link to the download and i can be far more descriptive ..

Well, u know I use this. And I would like to know some in-depth step by step process on some basic things. I already know alot about it, and can make a simple tube, but I wanna get some quality stuff down.

I have fruity loops, but I barely to not use it. So yeah, I think I have just as much experience in the program as you.

zoozer im not sure , but i think that reason will work alongside fruity loops.. the first person to introduce me to fruity loops about 8 years ago was jimmy lavalle of the album leaf/tristeza/locusts etc.he absolutely loved it, . i'd say his endorsement is quite a valid one.

OK, its been a while since I actually responded to this topic, but I am starting to get the hang of this program. I am now making some crazy bomb ass trance songs (if anybody would like to hear...), BUT I have one big dilemma. I have no idea; 1. How to create a full length song, 2. How to record it. Help would be much appreciated, and you would get a taste of songs to come, that is if you like trance. o0o... Inticing....
