So yes, on my new laptop and I'm using NL on there, obviously. It is running absolutely beautifully, even complex tracks run at a constant 60fps with all of the graphical control setting maxed out.

The only problem that I am having is shown in this picture ( explaination to follow):

Image

If you look at the bottom and the right side of the screen, you can see black strips where you would find the scroll bars in the other views. Scroll bars are obviously not needed in 3D view and I know are usually not there. This is not really the problem for me, however, it is causing the problem.

The problem is shown by my crude sketch of a track/support node and a mouse pointer. The position of the mouse pointer shows the position that it must be in in order to select the node, which is the same distance that is taken up by the invisible scroll bar thing at the bottom of the screen. But oddly, there is no positional correction required in a horizontal direction, despite there also being an invisible scroll bar at the side.

Anyone got any ideas what is up here?

on the link (e.g start menu or desktop) right click and go to properties and put compatibility mode on xp service pack 2. If that doesn't work right click and run as an administrator. Hope this helps!

I tried everything when I installed NL on my laptop to get that to stop from happening, but nothing ever did. I just got used to it. But if you can fix it, that's great.

Did anyone find out more on how to possibly fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

It isn't your laptop that is the problem, because I have that same thing on my vista computer. (the black bars on the side)

I really don't want to say this..... but vista is the problem..... ugh

The whole thing with the node, I dont know how to help you, that must be laptops only. Or it could set the editor to run in compatibility mode like stated earlier.

Edit: Actually, I just resized the window on the corner, and it snapped into place [lol]
