June 23rd 2009 - Heide Park

The first day from me and my mother's crazy trip to Denmark and back. Lot's of parks on the trip. We had 6 different possible parks planned and 1 day for mom inside Copenhagen.

After leaving really early in the morning we went on a 5 hour drive towards Heide Park. Eventually we arrived around 11am and looking at the parking lot it was going to be a crowded day. The weather was just awesome so we had nothing to actually complain about.

Coasters done that day:
Big loop: 1
Colossos: 3
Dessert Race: 2
Grottenblitz: 1 (2 laps xD)
Indy-Blitz: 1 (2 laps xD)
Limit: 1
Schweizer Bobbahn: 1

The photo's from that day:
Image
The park is nice and green [:)]

Image
I spy a rollercoaster in the distance!

Image
Now where can I find Dessert Race?

Image
Ouch! That looks like a 90 minute queueline with only 1 train running! But we were glad that the park offered express-passes. When you buy them you can skip the queue 3 times on: Dessert Race, Colossos or Limit. We eventually did it twice on Dessert Race and once on Colossos.

Image
Train flies through the track! Airtime everywhere! Not what I remembered on Rita...

Image
Again, Rollercoaster goodyness in the distance!

Image
Look at that drop [8D]

Image
I spy a free fall at the other side of the park!

Image
A very cool Top Spin in the refurbished Huss Corner of the park.

Image
Look, it's an SLC.

Image
And it has 10 cars! Not like walibi world with their 8 cars. [:D]

Image
We continued our walk towards the Schweizer Bobbahn. Those Mack bobsleds are cool!

Image
Doesn't this just look like pure fun?

Image
Scream! "Die h?????????hste Giro-Drop-Tower der Welt erwartet dich!" (The highest Giro-Drop-Tower from the world awaits you!)
I can't stop loving this tower. It towers 103m (338ft) above the park and drops you 71m (233ft) strait down! And to make it even better. It's standing on a hill, so it's even higher when you're all the way on the top!

Image
Look at the awesome view across the park! (Taken with mobile phone)

Image
Another quick shot at the limit and the bobbahn before I went plummeting down. [lol] (Also taken with my mobile phone)

Image
Back to colossos, airtime!

Image
Very cool drop

Image
And nice shaped hills

Image
Look at the crowd in the queue!

Image
Record of the steepest drop? NOT ANYMORE! [lol]

Image
Last shot at colossos's awesome hills

Image
And as a closure of the day, a couple of more rides on the freefall! <3

Image
"N?????????r f?????????r Busfahrer." (Only for busdriver.) Mom is the only one legal to enter that lounge. [lol]

Image
Wow, what room. Relaxing chairs with probably a massage option, and much more.

Image
A really awesome lounge at an amusement park. At least mom now knows WHERE to go when she has an assignment to go to Heide Park! [lol]

After that it was time to continue our trip. We drove further up north towards Hansa Park! Searched for a nice guesthouse around the area to sleep. Since we were going to Hansa Park tomorrow! [:D]

Other parts from my Trip:
*Current Day*
Day 2: Hansa Park
Day 3: Bakken
Day 4: BonBon Land
Day 5: Tivoli Gardens
Day 6: Copenhagen & Tivoli Gardens
Day 7: Sommerland Syd

cool photos!

This is one of the only European parks I've been too, I went just a few weeks after Colossos opened, the queue still hadn't been properly finished, heh.

Do you think that Desert Race is better than Rita then?

When I compare my experiences i've got to say Yes. Even tho the first part of the layout is exactly the same. I have the idea that they fixed the tiny heartlining issue at the end of the launch and probably did something to the top of the buckels. Since I can't remember a full ejector on those hills.

There is definitely ejector at the top of the first two hills on Rita, make it more powerful they must have done!

The third S hill on Desert Race is shaped differently, maximizing airtime. I think it drops lower than the one on RITA, though I'm not 100% sure on that one.

This picture is amazing! It does great justice to Colossos and Limit. Hell, it even makes Big Loop look fun, eh? And look at that sexy slim Desert Race off in the distance.

Also, I didn't know there was a Statue of Liberty replica at Heide...a little outta place, don'tcha think? [lol]

There's definitely "ejector" on rita, I nearly cracked my phone screen with the keys off the restraints the first time I rode it :p
