I would Personally love to have something like a Support Prefab creator. So you could make your own prefabs. For instance a Intamin A support with cross beams. All it would do is scale it up and down and align it. Also if it had Flanges that connected to the track and whatever does connect to the track does so like ASG does. That would be ag reat option in my opinion.

I don't that would be absolutely terrible. Do you know how much poopty R&B/hip-hip/rap crap you'd get funneled down your throat from that? not mention the emo poop you'd get too.

I would just love some transfer tracks, more, in fact WAY more track styles with more interchangeable train designs (DIVE MACHINES AND BM FLYERS FTW), better water effects, and 3d animations with track triggers incorporated. I'm not to hot on the idea of this pre-fab support idea. You rarely use the same banking degrees twice. At least thats me. And as for the music on the ride, eh. I wouldn't mind it, but I would probably never use it.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

I agree, and good idea also, I have wanted to do that, I just havent been able to cause it would be quite hard. Someone could just make a jesusrocktheride for Coasterkid and hell be fine.

It would conform to the banking, thats what I ment to the ASG thing. When using the ASG it automaticaly has pipes that come off at the precise banking yaw and pitch

I wouldn't really like the prefab idea. If all the supporting was already made in the game, that would mean it would take even less skill to make better coasters... If NL2 ever comes out, I just hope that its not too easy to make good coasters. Then there wouldn't be anything special about some of the rides that are being made currently.

I think the dynamic environments in NL2 will have "flowing" fog. Not necessarily mist, but the fog environments will be much more realistic. The flowing mist part could probably be achieved with animated 3ds. I think that's probably one of the most requested features, and will most likely be included.

Well, I really only mean this for parts of a bigger ride, where you are making the same support over and over again. Special supports like Lift supports or Corckscrew supports would still have to be one by hand. I was suggesting a way to make the tedious parts easier, not the fun ones ( Making stuff like Lift hill supports are actually kind of fun )

Idk why this bugs me, but I would like to see better shocks used. As of now, it's just random jumps and movements. On wooden coasters it's more shaky, If the coaster moved a tad bit more in every other which direction it would be kick ass, but not over-exaggerated.

I have been making lots of progress within the last months. I have been switchting a lot between multiple construction sites within the NL2 code which is over 400,000 lines so far. That's already more than the lines of all NL1.x modules counted together. Not every feature I started working on is completely finished at this point, so I cannot present anything brand new. Instead I decided to create a small video showing some features I have already talked about earlier. The video is encoded using Ogg Theora. If you use Firefox 3.5 or newer you can directly watch the video, otherwise you may need VLC or any other video player that can play Theora files..

The video basically shows the built-in walkmode. Unfortunately the coaster you can see in this video is a 3ds scene object. The coaster designing code is almost finished, but the object creation is not, so the 3ds file is still used as a place holder at this point. The final coasters in NL2 will look much better than this simple 3ds. I do not know if I talked about the walkmode yet. It was one of the first things I implemented in NL2, so I am considering it as an old new feature. It works quite nicely, you can walk on all kinds of objects that are meant for walking on, including scene objects. The video also shows some auto-plants, if you look carefully you can see that the plants are moving slightly. New ambient sounds and the dynamic shadows give a much higher immersion effect than NL1.

I am right now working on a built-in Force Vector Design Tool, that will allow you to create tracks specified by g-force values. I already implemented a built-in Elementary that allows to create elements based on formulas. The syntax is quite identical to Tia's original Elementary tool, so the existing collection of formulas can be reused with small modifications. [ol]

Awwwwww damn it! So now there's a built in FVD? Ugh, let's hope the newbs don't learn them, that would ruin the classy-ness of being able to understand FVD's. :(

No it wouldnt. Not anymore than me understanding how effectivly handbuild. A FVD'd ride IMO "should" be better than a hand build but in most cases still I find people just assuming the FVD replicates how a coaster should ride. All FVD's offer is a ton of control. Still up to the person to know a ride and not just design something thats smooth and think its perfect.

Plus it would make a bunch of people happy that theyve got control over their files.

I wonder if the built-in FVD's will allow for the option to seamlessly and nearly effortlessly stitch together FVD elements and hand-built ones? I feel like that would be a really nice addition.
BTW, did anyone else think that video looked AMAZING?
