I have attempted several attempts over the past year, but they were futile. Now after all the plentiful amount of knowledge that I learned, I will contribute that into my hopefully final and succesful attempt at my favorite ride, California Screamin' @ Disney's California Adventure, circa 2008 last year, with the Mickey Mouse still on the loop, TSMM, and the Sun Wheel. I would appreciate extra testers, but you will only be a main tester if you can confirm that you've ridden the ride at least 30 times in your lifetime [lol], or you can help me with smoothing and be a wise designer to be able to criticize and help me make the product as accurate to my best ability. I won't accept more than 15.

Current Testers:

Atem122
Flickstah
Calakapepe
Ianko66
Randomman4
SauronHimself
SNJ
Griffonluv
Real
ArapahoeGOALIE07

Anyways, onto the pictures.

Image

The cartextures, pretty self explanatory. The head of the car is from a picture I took myself [^]

Image

The Prelaunch area. Mine is original because all the other recreations start from the left station [lol]

Anyways, I plan to go all out for 3ds - Station, Footers, Midway Mania, The shops, LIMs and Brakes, etc. And might I add, that I thought ahead, and now that I know how to make the alpha textures work for objects in the OC, I can manipulate it to make all the objects I want and still keep it low poly.

That's all for the beginning, and I will keep you updated every week, because I will upload weekly progress videos to my YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/A113Productions , every Friday. So if I don't update the thread with the video, you can always check out the channel to see if it's up.

FINALLY! You're my hero. Disney theme parks are my favorite. AP holder, know the ride front and back. Would love to be a tester. Probably have ridden it over 100 times.

I'll Test. I have been on this ride many more times than 30. I will be glad to test it for you.

If you want any help with track shaping, feel free to hit me up. Never been, but its a very easy and basic track when its broken down. Nothing special or different about its design track wise. Theres a million pov's on youtube as well.

Yes. However, my family and I visit on vacation for a week every year. Trust me I have gone on this coaster many times.

HSAK is huge for this ride. A lot of shaping indeed. Just saying, you need to remember at the top of the lift, its not a solid radius, its more of a radius, a flat, and then another radius. Like I said, i'm willing to teach you HSAK, but there is a lot of stuff that your going to need. The basics of HSAK dont cut it for this coaster.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

^ I already knew about the block segment at the top of the lift. HSAK and Purg and possibly FVDs would be helpful to use for this ride. And Araphoe and Real, I'm going to need an Email.

BTW to Araphoe, CC isn't letting me PM for some reason, but currently I was using a Handbuilding/AHG technique. I was going to use Newton, but N2 would be better but it's not out yet.

Wouldn't it be better to use the Modern Steel Looping Cars instead of that style.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

Ya but the trains look more like the ones in real life.

I know it was made by Intamin smart ass.

Actually, as much as the trains would look more realistic because of the OSTRs and the car body, I honestly think using the Intamin trains are better.

And I wasn't trying to be a smart ass, I thought you didn't know it.

Here is a little update.

Many thanks to Flickstah, who generously sacrificed his time to teach me the basics of Purgatorium and Helix Swiss Army Knife, I have a very somewhat decent understanding about them, and after an evening and a morning of playing around, I was able to make a solid rough for the tweaked launch hill and the turn into the first midcourse. The whole launch hill section to the midcourse are made with elementary, ahg, and some purg. Here are a couple pictures [^] .

Image

This is what I got after playing around and going through some trial and error. It will be tweaked a bit.

The train zipping out of the launch hill.

How steep is that hill? From this angle it looks way to steep for the launch hill.

I also have another suggestion. Are you using satellite images of California Screamin' to ensure better shaping? Bing Maps is a great way to look at the coaster in a more interactive way.

Well, I cant help you right now, im going out for a while, but from what I am seeing, your missing something. First off, that first hill is pretty linear (i think thats the term for what I'm about to say...) meaning that it will pull up, straighten out, then crest, and from what I remember, the other side is pretty linear as well. Secondly, that drop doesn't pull up straight, it starts turning to the right at the bottom of the hill. Send me the track a little later so I can see whats been done so far.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.
