My disapointing coaster was Orto Bruco tour in Gardaland. It was so slowly in went about 10 km/h.

The xcellerator at knotts. 82 miles an hour was nothing...

Oblivion at Alton Towers, even back in 1998 when it was the onlyone of its kind. Such a long wait, such a lenghty hill climb, and then 11 seconds of ride.

I remember back in 1985 how excited I was that we were getting a wooden coaster close to home, until then the closest we had was the Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz.

What did we end up with? The Grizzly at CGA, perhaps the worst woodie made in the modern era. Disappointment doesn't even begin to cover it. It's not bad because it's painfully rough, badly laid out or poorly made, it's bad because it's all of those things and BORING on top of it. Half the time you're thinking it's about to shudder to a halt, and you really wish it would because it's banging you're knees into jelly. I'd walk to Santa Cruz before riding that thing ever again.

My first ride on GhostRider at Knott's was disappointing, but I set myself up for it; it was on an early cold morning and I was the only one riding so the thing was slow and kicking like a mule in a bee swarm. Later in the afternoon, after it had warmed up and a line had formed filling the trains, it was much better.
Be sure you're not looking in a mirror before you start pointing fingers.

I generally can find something good out of every coaster I ride, so answering this is kind of difficult. Here goes -

The Beast - I liked how it goes out in the woods and everything, but it seemed a little dull to me. It was also the most painful experience i've ever had on a wooden coaster (the final helix). Perhaps I just caught it on a bad day? At any rate, I wouldn't mind riding it again. I bet it would be much more exciting at night.

The Hurler - I lost my cigarette lighter on this ride. That alone was enough to be disappointed, because I was the only smoker in my group.

Hypersonic - Stupid, pointless ride. Especially after having to wait in line for 2 hours to ride it, because it constantly broke down.

Most painful experience? Ever been on Mean Streak?

Biggest disappointments were Millennium Force, and Rock n Roller Coaster.

I haven't seen this one yet, but it's probably been said, Superman: Ultimate Flight. The only good thing about it was the pretzel loop and the barrell roll

No, but i've been on its older cousin. I can't imagine it being any more painful than Texas Giant.

Hercules was infinitely more painful than both of those rides, when comparing front row rides. I didn't dare try the back of Hercules, as my own back hurt enough after a front row ride lol. Texas Giant had some spots of hard jackhammering in the front, as did Mean Streak, but overall I didn't find them to be too too bad like I did Hercules.

I think that the real reason I found Mean Streak to be a horror was that every time I'd strap myself in, I got into a seat with a defective lap bar that gave almost of foot of space between my lap and the bar. Therefore, during the ride, I was holding onto the handles for dear life while smashing between the back and the restraint. I'll tell you, the only time I am EVER been afraid of a roller coaster is when I'm on Mean Streak.

Absolutely bitchin' ride, all that aside. :)

I would have to say mean streak also! It used to be a great ride back in the early 90's, but I just rode it this year and it was terrible! Slow, ruff, bumpy, jerky and the whole time I was wondering if it was going to de-rail, the coaster needs to be replaced with a better one for sure.

Yeah, only sad thing is that it's very unlikely they'll do that. They don't want to drop their coaster count and lose their title.

I have a hard time believing this.

From what I've ridden, The Dark Knight Coaster at Six Flags Great America. It was all hyped up to be something spectacular, but it's really nothing more than a Wild Mouse in a box with some "meh" ride theming.

Medusa at SFGAdv...back when it was the first (only) floorless and was being hyped as being the awesome new thing, and ended up being a forceless, blander version of my beloved Kumba with all the interesting bits rounded out and none of the terrain interaction.

Not to be a prick but with parks like SFGAm and SFGAdv you can't really do terrain interaction when there is no terrain. SFGAm was bulldozed under by glaciers repeatedly and SFGAdv is half in a marsh.

Also Mean Streak accomplishes an astonishing amount of nothing for its size. The front at least has laterals.

Bizzaro and Dark Night at Great Adventure where huge let downs for me. Bizzaro was always hyped up as an old school intense B&M but when I rode it it was so rough I would have rather been on an arrow looper and it was more forceless than Gatekeeper. I have no Idea why Dark night gets hyped so much, it's theming is pathetic and it isn't even dark inside!
All hail your great Arrow Dynamics overlords.

Sure you can. Hell, Florida is flatter than New Jersey and BGT managed. All it takes is a bit of landscaping. Makes all the difference.

I'm not asking for mountains. Just as much give-a-shit as your average municipal golf course.

Look I get what you're saying but lets just say I wouldn't bother at SFGAdv either given what is going on geologically around it.

Out of the recent coasters I've ridden. Definitely "New Texas Giant" @ SFOT.
Coastercount: 1410 (I've seen the world and it's horrid contraptions... @.@)
- Wood: 142
- Steel: 1268

If you're really skinny the lapbars on that ride won't go down all the way. I have a good 2-3 inches between me and the bar on it. The ride has zero air, you really don't need the bar.
