You could probably export the NL default version of Mantis so it looks a little better than the single tube or whatever it is that you have right now. It wouldn't be THAT many more frames, and would also look a LOT better.

Yea the NL version is not even CLOSE to the actual ride.

well, looks incredible.

but like real's ttd, it wasn't that accurate (first one, second one was better but not quite there). i'd like to see some layouts from overhead myself.

if i still my old hdd i got a track that is about 95% accurate on MF. heights and lengths are as close as possible, think i was about 50 feet too long not being ahged. if you want i can try to find it on my old hdd if i still got that around here.

Thats because even then I had managed to separate the 3ds files so they would only be loaded as seen. Most people seem to throw one huge object into the scene which means even if a small portion is seen the whole thing is being rendered. I cut it up into crucial files so youd only load what you saw.

That and LOTS of alpha texturing where I could to save on polys. Meant the textures were hit hard but I figured at that time it would still be better in the long run.

^ Oh, that makes sense. But it was still A LOT of scenery that needed to be loaded, although I can see this Millennium Force heading in that direction.

IT was loaded all up at once, but only accessed as the stuff came into view.

I also utilized culling techniques to hide faces of objects that couldnt be seen.

ok, well it looks really phenomenal, but there's a slight change I'd like you to make, though I have no idea how you'd go about doing it. And that is that the top of MF's lift isn't totally circular. It starts out pretty much circular, but it gradually shifts into a parabola. Yours looks like it's a circle that gradually shifts into a pullup, sort of skipping the parabola stage. Like I said, I don't know what or how much you want to change with all of those supports there, but that's my only concern as far as trackwork goes, or as far as anything else goes, for that matter!

.....btw, that last screenshot in your first post is the most realistic NL screenshot I've ever seen that wasn't photoshopped to make it look realistic. Well done.

Yeah boneplaya is right. The top is circular and then gradually goes flatter.

Yeah! but its a little less of a lead out. More of like an attempt of keeping the same -forces until the lead out. Because his drop looks like it would get more -gs all the way down. THey should be staying somewhat the same. See my point?

Well a lead out makes the radius bigger and therefore will keep the forces around the same because of the increasing speed.

^ What are you talking about? You mean the bit on the downside of the hill? the "jerk" I think you can see is the two hills crossing slightly.

I see what you guys mean by the lift...but is it reall worth saying its gonna ruin the ride? Why doesn't someone else try to do all this?
