The top of the lift has the same radius from the end of the straight section to just before the second tall support (about five meters before or so). The radius then loosens up into a tangent of the 80 degree drop. Take a look at Millennium Force from across the bay, it gives a better visual of the change in radii.

I might venture to say Ive got as many rides on MF as anyone here. I was one of the first to ride it, even before the media day event took place. It may not be my favourite ride, or close to it but I know it all very well. I am expecting your 3ds to be perfect. If someone does a recreation of both the ride and surroundings I dont just up-rate because of 3ds. If the 3ds isnt done properly or isnt accurate that actually detracts from the package as a whole.

So - whatever you do, do it well. A ride like this is trickier than one thinks and I want first the track to be perfect before the 3d surroundings come into play. Ill always take a perfect track bare of any 3ds over a mediocre track with amazing surroundings.

That drawing is a terrible bases for comparison. The spacing on the legs isn't even accurate, and the towers are sturdier than that.


Don't worry, I'm putting enough time and effort into this to not disappoint. Although negative and sour comments are not helping the process...

I actually think that drawing is fine. Why? Just because the supports arent photorealistic doesnt mean the actual shape isnt. That was the whole purpose of that anyways to show off the profile shape and compare the heights. The supports are irrelevant.

Also, in your shot at the top or slightly past (but still before the end of the catwalk) the drop lead out starts. Itll start very slowly as Werner Stengel would and is typical in his designs and gradually lead out longer to compensate for the speed increase as it descends.

Also, check out the official POV and youll see right where Im talking about. At the top or just past the radius, very slowly, starts to get larger and larger.

If anything, in this video when they have that top 2 peices set, thats about the farthest I think the circular radius would go. I think it starts between the top and the end of the catwalk which isnt very far.

isn't that what behind the fence areas intended to be for? Not promotional, but to get criticism and help before the ride is released.

As for your ride, I'm with real here...while the whole experience of the surroundings is a great touch, i'd rather have a perfect track before you made any supports or 3ds.

Considering the amount of work put into this, you better pray to god your stats are perfect, the track is smooth and as near flawless as possible, or you pretty much wasted your time on this. The experience will be fine, but those pumps will haunt you in your dreams.

^ He's not, he's just saying that you better not have pumps because it will ruin the entire recreation, no matter how much scenery you put into it.

But you should listen to what Real is saying, he's very very good at working with NoLimits and making scenery objects (not saying you're not good at NoLimits and/or making scenery). He's only trying to help.

I'm just jerking you guys around. I appreciate the input, I do modify the track every couple of months. I have been working on this since last August. It is free of major pumps, there are a couple spots that have a little wiggle to them, but you only notice it if you are watching from the nose backward. The start of the first overbank has a spot that I've been trying to smooth out. It's the spot where the drop meets the turn. AHG created a semi-quick transition, but from a pov it looks spot on to what the real ride does. Somewhere a backward pov of Millennium Force existed, but I can't find it. I know the real ride has a few shaky spots, and I wanted to make sure that I recreated them. I have a feeling they are in the same spots as I have mine (mostly on the island).


I would appreciate if someone could get some good pictures of the queue, locker, and photo hut area.

As far as 3D objects go, I don't want to make too many things as to where it would affect mostly the frame rate, and wouldn't add to the enjoyment of the ride. Basically, if you can't see it on a POV, it doesn't need to be modeled. Although for photogenic purposes, I plan to add certain areas such as the depot and round house, pathways, and vending machines.

I never received a full version of Tia's object creator, that came with the exporting track models function, so that's why Mantis looks like yellow licorice. The model that I used is shaped funny too, so if anyone has a good Mantis, I'll gladly take it.

I moved the lead tower back 2m to allow for the curvature of the drop to be more rapid.

Judging from what I learned with SROS with 9 cars since the friction improvement, I'm pretty sure the trains should behave like a real train without riders. I question the need for brakes to control pacing there.

No, you're not. You told him "not to pull a Tidus". How is AyTrane, a relatively new member, supposed to know what a "Tidus" is? It was exactly as Tidus called it, an unexpected and unneeded attack on him.
