There are three trim brakes; one at the top of the third hill, one after the the helix, and one in the second tunnel. They are for pacing, but they only take off 1/2 to 1 mph each. I wanted it to sync up with the official pov better, and the pov has an empty train. The train in the sim was traveling too fast in some spots, so I decided to trim it off.

Wow. You actually agreed with me! Yayz.

Anyway, back on-topic. Aytrane, I'm not sure if having trims where they really aren't is a good idea; even if the pacing is more realistic. With a full train, the coaster would go as fast as in the sim. People will mark off on accuracy if those are there.

Hey I know this isn't on topic at all, but I don't think the arguement between you guys is either. But now that the NLDC is closed do you guys think you can send me the White Enviroment like the picture. As many times as I saw it at NLDC, I never downloaded it.

That's not the white environment...that's a Keith McVeen rendering using 3dsMax...one of the first he did. Also note that it's very inaccurate, and nobody should be using it for anything more indepth than only the largest details.

...? So? Im sure it does but that means your parabola is exactly as long and at all the correct angles? Id rather use the supports to determine where it starts combined with known or educated guesses on the supports heights and distances from the base of the pullout.

also, saying it ends at the end means the parabola flattens out which it doesnt. The radius widens but doesnt flatten out (ending) then pick back up for the turn. Thats why so many people blackout there. The g's are sustained, weaken slightly as you turn up, then more g'ss at the apex of the turn.

NO no no no! MF's track is PERFECTLY smooth! The "shakiness" only occurs when the trains havent been rehabbed. Ive ridden the trains before and after rehabs and the only spots that remotely shake are the back of the train. In the front car there is zero shake and if there is any its NOT from the track.

Recreating a "feel" is, IMO, very incorrect. Recreate the perfectness of the track, not how it feels. Even the pacing - We KNOW will be off because those trains arent exactly your standard trains...they are much heavier than standard Intamin trains.


So if pacing is off by only a few seconds but its pretty spot to layout - good job. I would push fervantly to get ride of any shakes. It should ride true and perfect throughout.

I remember waiting in line for Millennium and seeing a giant gap between track sections. On B&M coasters, the gap is nonexistant. What did they leave such large gaps, and is that the cause of the bumpiness?

And he means he's pretty sure that gap doesn't exist, at least to the extent implied. I agree with Real...Millennium Force was one of the smoothest rides I've been on, and considering the high speeds I don't think a "giant gap" is accurate.

Where I noticed it was on the long stretch of queue on an incline up to the station, where only a metal fence is between you and the last airtime hill. On the descent of the hill, the rails of the track segments are separated by around a half-inch.

MF is smoother than melted butter. anything other than a golden track is a false recreation. the same way a golden track of mean streak would be an accurate recreation.

ill be there monday and i sincerely doubt that any track pieces are not touching. These trains use either nylon or a polyurethane wheel and at any speeds traveling over that gap with sharp steel edges would obliterate! the wheels. Theres no gap and if there is its been welded together and sanded. That wouldnt create a shake, it would create a jolt.

A gap? Really? Do you think Cedar Point would allow a coaster to have a gap in any part of the ride? Also, Cedar Point would have looked into this "gap" (if it existed) and fixed it back in 2000 before the ride opened.
