Q: Right now I have a proper Arrow lay-out, I think. Does it matter if it's Arrow-ish? Because now I have a smooth ride with normal heartline and magnetic brakes. It's kinda the modern-day Arrow. Is that ok?
And how do I calculate the riders per hour? I have 3 trains of 7 cars now.

A1: If you want modern Arrow shaping, I will be basing the shaping off of "Tennessee Tornado," which if you look at the top of the lift hill, is heartlined to some degree.

A2: First, get a timer. Then sit in the coaster's second train. Start your timer at the instant that the train you're in leaves the station. And then stop it after the train has undergone a complete circuit, and starts leaving the station once again. Then divide this time into 3600 seconds, and multiply by the number of trains and the number of riders per train. This is your capacity.

So, once again: 3600 seconds / circuit time * # of trains * riders/train

One lap is 3 min 35 which is 215 seconds, 7 trains of (7*4) riders.
THat's gonna be (3600/215)*7*(7*4) = 16.774*7*28 = 3281 riders per hour.
Did I do something wrong or do I have one hell of a capacity? [:O]

7 trains? seriously? I hate to think how many MCBR's a coaster like that would have to have...

update: the coaster list is going to have to wait another couple hours. I'm down to my last coaster type, but then I still have to add the rcdb links and the NL pictures, and I won't be getting any more free time at work until about 2:30, so it will be another couple hours.

Aah, I see, now I have 1406 riders per hour. That's a better number. :D

For the record, Tennessee Tornado is fully heartlined and is just as smooth as a B&M.

My handbuilt ride is also pretty smooth right now, and I'm glad that I don't have to un-smooth it. [:)]

A: uh, technically as many as you want, but they cost money.

Also, a minor change to the rules:
I decided that since there are so many different possibilities with this contest, I'm going to allow people to submit as many different coasters as they want. The only restriction will be that only one submission can be made for each coaster type. So let the ideas flow...

I appreciate you making the Dinn/RCCA category even though I probably won't use that idea for now as I am rather stuck on what to do, but thanks for putting in the time for that anyways.

Hopefully an idea that everyone else isn't doing will pop into my head sometime soon. I don't want to enter unless I can commit.

Can we delete the trees from the template? Cause they keep getting in the way and at first i just disabled them from view, but now i want to delete them. SO can we?

A: Yes.

Q: Is it legit to create a moebius?
A: They are certainly not illegal, but since it would cost double, and will make fitting the coaster into the template twice as hard, I really wouldn't recommend it.

UPDATE:
I just realized that I forgot to put metric conversions with all the records. I apologize for that, non-US contestants, and I will fix the problem ASAP.

Q: I didn't see anything on G forces. Do we need to build as realistically as possible? Say if you build a wood ride, would you be docked points for going over 3.5 positive G's?

A: (quote from contest rules) "G Forces will be judged according to each coaster type." So yes, it will depend on the coaster. Like how 4 g's is extremely high for a GCI, but 5.5 g's would be completely acceptable on a Schwarzkopf Looper. Just do your research and you'll be fine.

Last thing before I go to work, I downloaded the template and saved it, but for some reason it didn't go directly to my desktop and it is not in any of my NL files. Any suggestions on where to look in my system? This has never happened before.

Just click "download" again, and it will try to save it to the same place. Take note of where that is, and you're good.

And I'm assuming that you have the NL Track Packager...
