People have always been fascinated by Mars, especially whether it supports, or has supported life during its history. To this end, NASA is continuing Deep Space exploration with the MAVEN mission. Here are videos explaining the two main theories about the history of Mars atmosphere:

Here the MAVEN robotic explorer is already mounted inside the fairing atop an Atlas 400 rocket. Long the workhorse of space exploration, this reliable booster is once again called into action. It has just left the Vertical Integration Facility and is headed towards the launch pad.

All systems are go for launch on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1:28 PM. It will travel towards Mars for 10 months and arrive during September 2014. The launch will be carried live on NASA TV or you can view it through the NASA.gov website. Here is a video hosted by Dr. Bruce Jakowsky, from the University of Colorado-Boulder:
