(Taz's) Texas Tornado at AstroWorld had a wicked first drop when it was at AstroWorld. I think they probably ruined it when they took it out west and shortened it, though.

Well I haven't had any experience with it but the original first drop of the Texas Rattler looked pretty badass even if it was rough.

this might sound like a silly one but Grizzly at KD has a good first drop if you're in the front. Not much in the other rows though.

The best drop is Kraken for me or Jurassi Park at Univeral Islands of Adventure!

I agree, Kraken has a fantastic drop, especially in the back, and I love the drop on Corkscrew (CP). Also in the back.

first drop on Wildfire in the back seat is pretty cool. Your ass doesn't touch the seat until the bottom of the hill.

Looks like the hypercoasters are gonna win this one 'cause they're all about the first drop. On that I'd go for the Big One at Blackpool. Especially when the tide is in!

Probably gonna get shouted down for saying it but I think the Vekoma Boomerangs have awesome first drops. The slow pull backwards is a real tension builder.

Much more intense airtime.

I think the kiddie drop on Wisdom Cobra Coaster at the Montgomery County Fair was fun because it tipped you to the side.

^ agreed, the drop indoors is actually more intense than the drop after the lift.

Apart from the obvious ones (Maverick! I could gush for days), I've always loved the front seat on Phantom's Revenge. Something about hanging practically vertical in the crook of the curve before the train fully crests makes it such a pleasant yet thrilling experience.
