2009 CoasterCrazy Coasterdraft

Welcome to the coasterdraft. In this game 12 members will try to pick 12 coasters from all over the world to make their dream-park. After 12 rounds of picking coasters, you will vote who wins!

Signing up is easy, just post in this topic that you want to sign up, the only rule is that you have at least made 200 posts. But do notice that this game will run for about 3 months (starting Monday 31st) and you will need to be able check the forum/topic at least every 24 hours (I'll tell you why later). Also, there are 12 spots, 4 of which will be invitations to the top-4 of last year, 8 spots will be filled by a random draw out of all the sign-ups. So please on sign up if you really can and want to join. Sign-ups will close on Thursday night 11:59 PM

If not all of the invitations are accepted, those spots will become available for ?????????sign-up-members?????????.

So, after the participant list is announced, there will be a 72-hour time slot in which every participant is required to post a number between 0 and 100 (0 and 100 are also available). You cannot post a number that has already been picked. After all picks are in, or the 72 hours have passed, I will draw a random number and the proximity of your number to that random number will determine the order of the participants. If somebody hasn?????????t picked a number, he/she will be placed at the end of the list.

Then the actual drafting will start. This will consist of 12 rounds where everybody tries to pick a coaster. Every round will start with me posting all the picks from previous rounds, or at least a clear message indicating that the round has started. From that point on, the person 1st on the list has 24 hours to choose a coaster for his/her dream-park. The coaster has to be operating at the time of choosing.

After the member has picked a coaster, the 24 hours of the 2nd member start. If a member fails to pick a coaster within the 24 hours, he/she will not get a coaster that round and the deadline for the next members is the previous deadline plus 24 hours.

After you have picked a coaster, you may change your pick until the next person picks his coaster or your deadline is up. If your post shows an 'last edited'-time exceeding the next pick or your deadline, the pick will not be counted.

If you pick a dueling/racing/double coaster it will cost you 2 turns at first. The next round you will not be able to pick a coaster, but it will not count as a ?????????miss?????????. The 2nd dueling/racing/double coaster you pick will not cost you 2 rounds, so in total you can get 4 coasters in 3 rounds. Picking these multiple dueling/racing/double coasters does not have to be right after each other, you can pick a dueling in round 1, skip round 2, get regular coasters in 3 and 4, and then get a racing coaster in round 5. This process repeats itself, so the next dueling/racing/double coaster will cost you 2 rounds. It is possible to get 16 coasters in your park, if you only choose dueling/racing/double coasters.

If all twelve turns are over, the round is over. The player who was first now moves to the last position, and the other players move one up. The next round will begin on my mark, as stated above.

If you miss one or more rounds, you will not be able to get 12 coasters in your park. If you miss 3 rounds in a row or 4 in total, you will be disqualified. Remember, skipped rounds because of picking dueling/racing/double coasters do not count as a miss. You may also forfeit and give your place to a back-up member. The back-up list will be formed by members that have signed up, but not made it into the draft. The order of the members on the back-up list will be determined at random.If you are disqualified, you will not be able to vote for the winner at the end of the draft.

After the twelve rounds are over, the voting will begin. All participants are required to post their votes, and all other members with at least 100 posts can vote. Voting will be done in a separate topic, and all you have to do is post your top-3 of drafted parks. Just your favorite or top-2 will not be accepted, and if there are more than 3 names/parks, only the top-3 will be counted.

The final result will be a 50/50 of participants????????? votes and regular members votes. If you were disqualified from the draft, you are not allowed to vote.
