Because woodmagic is horrifying. All it does is makes a structure to hold the track in an upright position. It can't determine lateral forces from the trains speed and track bank angle, or where crossover supports should go, or even do the innercross bracings properly. I've seen older woodies use the X bracing on the inner sections, but never more modernwoodies just have one diagonal support.
