People don't compare coasters from the USA with coasters not from the USA for the right reasons, most people from USA never ridden coasters outside of the USA. So, who has by any chance ridden Dragon Khan. If you can afford you travel and actually ride that, I'd say you're probably pretty rich and probably get to live your dream of travelling the USA too and pretty experienced rollercoaster enthusiasts. I've viewed just about ever non launch, non hyper coaster on youtube and Dragon Khan to me looks like it could be the best just not talked about since its outside this continent. Who here has actually ridden it and is it really as good as it looks?

This poll is VERY comprehensive, very accurate and 100 times more valid than the golden ticket crap.

DK is 10th in the world...which Id say is pretty darn good.

While I respect lists for what they are, I never take them as anything near official since the # of riders involved is never accounted for. Like, I don't feel its right for a coaster with 11 or 13 riders to be ranked #2 or 4 while something like Millenium Force has sustained its score throughout hundreds of opinions. But, I got nothing against that list or anything cuz its a fun one to read.

First you said you never take them official since the # of riders is never accounted for, but then this poll does and you bash it?

MF's "score" has not withstood as many as you think. Those Golden Ticket Awards are given by the same people each year. Much like a panel thats chosen by Amusement Today to give their input. Why do you think a ride like MF, which is really mediocre at best ranks over absolute masterpeices in design like Expedition Geforce?

See, his poll not only takes into effect the NUMBER of people (he does require a minimum...look at the bottom, certain rides dont rank because only 5 people rode it) but also how those people compared say, Eagle Fortress to MF. Everyone who rode Eagle Fortress and also MF probably ranked EF over MF. Which tells the program he developed that EF is a better ride than MF.

This poll is pretty much scientific. No other poll takes into effect so many things at some many angles.

SROS SFNE (now Bizarro) ranked higher than all other rides, especially when those rides were also ridden by the same people. So of the 127 voters for SROS, it won 0.9986 pecent of the time (basically perfect) it was compared to another ride.

Its not fun, that ones science. If you buy into that Golden Ticket garbage, you dont or havent read up on how it works. Its one of the most flawed, pointless polls ever.

Of course MF will rank in the top when 90% of the people who vote, have only been on it and come from the Midwest. This poll I linked too is actual coaster enthusiasts, many of them traveling outside their little bubbles they live in to ride coasters. They have a much better understanding of what rides rank where than asking people to vote for their #1, compiling votes and then just ranking them based on the # of votes they got. Its such a terrible system the Golden Tickets are.

This is basically the TPR poll. At least the top 10.

It is, but who else is traveling to these rides who also rides most of the US rides and other rides around the world?

I may not always agree, but I certainly respect the fact that most of the voters havent just ridden 17 coasters and they all reside at one park.

Personally, dk looks good and all but not the best in the world. Top 50 hands down, top 25 most likely, top 10 maybe. No i feel the best coaster in the world would probably be expedition everest. This is off looks and not experence. For us im going to say either goliath (mm), titan, or nitro. AGain this is just me based of visuals.

^^Haha for sure.

I can't help but wonder if they're general good experiences with TPR(ERT, good times, etc.) on these big trips ever influence their opinions of the roller coasters themselves(in particular their rating of Eagle Fortress). Though I still do value their opinions greatly as they've all probably ridden more rides than I ever will.

I've ridden DK, it is very good, but I've ridden more than 10 better coasters than it, so for my mind the poll above is wrong anyway! [lol]

I do agree though that the American rides do tend to get more of a high profile look in on these kinds of things, the business is quite localised into America in some ways.

It's defenitely not the best coaster in the world, it's a cool, long and a bit old, which makes it a bit shakey but not painful

Someone hasn't experienced the luxury of something like Shockwave at SFGAm. Shakey when new and constantly needing new welds because it was destroying itself.
"Careful man, there's a beverage here!"
