Just wondering what sort of music listening setups people use (home theater too if you want). Music and it's reproduction are extremely important to me so audio equipment has been a hobby of mine for some time, longer than coasters. Post whatever you use, from mp3 players to high end home or car audio systems.

My 2 channel home system:
Wharfedale Evo2-10 standmount speakers (6.5" kevlar mid-woofer and 1" soft dome tweeter)
Cambridge Soundworks P205 sub (sealed 10" with a 250w BASH amp)
Onkyo TX-SR502 receiver (rated at 75Wx6, always used in 2 channel direct mode (being replaced with a Cambridge Audio Azur A640v2 hopefully soon))
Marantz CD5003 CD player
Sanus Natural Foundation 24" stands (also being replaced by DIY steel stands somewhere down the road)

Pics here (the photos of the mahogany speakers are my older ones, which aren't being used right now; the maple ones are what I currently use)

So yeah, post whatever you have.

I've got my stereo setup in my room with an Onkyo 2 channel tx 8255. A pair of polk tsi 100's. And a Polk PSW 10 Sub. I just got this setup about 3 months ago for about $500 total. It's good for playing my itunes, and I've been starting a vinyl collection that's a joy to play on it.

I have a clarion cd/mp3 head unit with a 6 disc cd changer that has two amps, a crossfire 50x4 and a Rockford fosgate 800a2 connected to a pair of 6.5 inch Crossfire SQ6 and in the rear I have a set of 6x9 MB quarts and for subs I have 2 10's solobarics SD10's. I have a Pioneer digital EQ, a clarion bass enhancer and other crazy equiptment. The result, real good audio, all in my car [:p]

The bass is unbelievable for a self-powered sub, plus it's thx certified so the mid's and hi's are pretty solid too.

For the car: 10" Ported RF hooked up to the p300-1 mono amp, with the sony CDX-GT540UI head unit.

Do you have those Polks on stands SFMM Homie? If not I definitely recomend it (don't make the mistake I made though, go with steel mass loadable stands - the MDF/wood stands will resonate and "add" to the sound...but a mass-loadable steel stand will be sonically dead). You'll get better dynamics, better sound stage, and more placement options which should improve mids and upper bass. Being rear ported they should be somewhat far away from the rear and side walls, though this takes some dialing in to get right with your personal room and speakers. Putting some time into this stuff can pay off a lot in the long run....if you think it sounds great now you'll be even more impressed.

Live... coming out of whatever instrument I'm playing [:P]

I figure I'll wait to get a bigger place before building an audio system.

I was contemplating putting them on stands but I just don't have the space in my tiny bedroom to get them really out from the wall. I have them mounted to the wall about 2 feet from the top, and 3 feet from either side. I might take a picture.

I'm pissed. I just bought myself some nicer computer speakers, some Logitech ones. Two satellites and a sub, and they sounded amazing! Haven't even had them a month and the satellites are blown. I'm really pissed off...

Mobile: Koss: CC_01 (I love these too, but they aren't worth the money.)

The URL tag doesn't work properly for the second one.. It screws up at the ^'s towards the end. Just copy and paste it I guess.

I have a set of Logitech speakers, z2300 I think. They aren't the best, but for my budget they work well.

I've only got a 8-gig phillips mp3 player, cheap headphone, my computer with the original speakers, and one of those cheap stereos you can buy at wal-mart
What are these for?

I have a Creative X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion series sound card on my system, though I guess I probably spent more than I should've on sound for my new computer. I use a pair of Sony MDR-XD200 headphones and rarely use speakers. (My speaker set is a 2.1 Inland system; it's pretty weak but works I guess.) The headphones, while cheap and lack a volume control, work nicely IMO.

In the future, I'm hoping for a 5.1 speaker set, and perhaps whenever I can afford a home theater system, I can get a nice sound system to use for everything; music, games, movies/TV, etc. The main issue right now is that there's a family around and I can't have gunfire sounds and heavy metal blasting around the house so I almost always have to use headphones.
