So how's that ride coming along, it must be so nice to see people bringing up such wonderful conversations about the ride, and then the conversation ending with a total irrelevant subject[lol]

That's something only you can see on CC <---that rhymed.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

I love well themed inverts, and i love that there are lots of them, this looks like a very good one.

Progressing on this ride nicely. Ive got about...25%of the track spine done. Still tweaking since the export isnt exact. Some areas tend to shift vertically or to one side creating some unfavorable effects. But, trying to figure out quicker ways to fix as I go along. I would like to start themeing it here shortly and once thats semi-in place Ill throw up just a few teaser shots of the lift and possibly one or two elements. But only when that entire area is done and sort of like a real construction update, the rest of the track wont be floating around the background. But nothing too crazy. Not like IVe got hours and hours of free time.

So, maybe by end of the week if Im fortunate.

I think the red and white looks too much like patriot. If this will be a 007 theme, I would sugest something like a black spine with a silver stripe.

Its not 007. Its just a serial number. I have GCI_004 and GCI_006. As well as TGG_001 and TGG_002. Its how I keep my stuff separated in folders.

It wont look like patriot because it wont have bold blue supports.

^ I use a part numbering system for mine, helps keeps everything tidy.

the ride I'm currently working on is 2010-003-002. i.e: "year of release - ride type - layout version"

It's a part numbering system borrowed from work!

Expect 3ds supports. Ive decided if Im doing this much detail on the spine I surely cant use the NL supports. I need to have 3ds supports so the joints are proper and all that jazz. Again, dont worry. Itll load fast.

Should have the lift up in a few days. Be one of the few shots I show. But should prove very asthetically pleasing.

wicked cool.

Yeah, it would be a shame to have put so much effort into the spine only to then see that connected to it was an NL support beam [xx(]

if this were a sitdown ride and not inverted, i could do just the connectors and get away with the nl supports because they would almost all be A frames. Because of most invert supports being upside down U and L shapes, the right angles look hideous in NL. If i can blend both i will do that. Itll just take extra effort matching colors. But i could also bake shadows into these supports too...

These are not textured completely...keep that in mind.
The stair rails are 6 sided while the vertical posts are just double sided 2face rectangle polygons. I am cutting where I can and keeping higher poly also. Rails didnt look right not being round.

its also missing the edge around the platform at the end of the lift...that somehow got deleted when I was messin in Max. Simple faces though. I gotta add one more thing to the lift catwalk - the ladder that extends from the side of the lift up at the top so they can get to the top of the spine and do work where the chain starts to return back to the bottom. Other than that, thats almost done other than coming up with textures so it looks more dynamic.

Hey Anthony, contact me when you get a chance...I have a suggestion I used for Aurora that'll work perfectly for you and will further reduce polygon count without any reduction in quality. Everything looks great though thus far :)

btw DCS, I tried that method with the rails and it wont work. If I use that method, the rails will remain vertical in relation to the ground when IRL they are perpendicular to the platform.

BTW, the rails should be perpendicular to the ground, not the platform. http://rcdb.com/5.htm?p=9587 I figured you were gonna fix that but it seems you didn't notice, if I'm not mistaken.
