Read about it here.http://screamscape.com/html/knott_s_berry_farm.htm

This ride will be replacing Screamin' Swing. It is a first generation Intamin drop tower.
This is surprising considering Screamin' Swing is relatively new and, Knott's just had negative relations with Intamin. This is also a very old ride. Like VERY old, I'm surprising Cedar Fair did not scrap it.

Glad I got to ride it just before its leaving. I loved that ride though. Great addition to Knotts, but never where I thought it would go.

The Demon Drop has always been my favorite flat ride. A few years ago I heard it was up for sale, never heard if that was confirmed or not though.. Either way I was very disappointed at the fact that CP may have been getting rid of it. The fact that it is being moved to KBF though is an absolutely amazing thing for me! CP and KBF are my two most visited parks. I live in Arizona, so now if I ever have a Demon Drop craving I get to drive for 7 hours rather than fly.

Such an amazing ride, good to see they're not scrapping it completely. This is the last 1st generation drop tower left in the US right?

It has been for sale for a while.... It was gonna happen eventually!

I wonder what modifications they will do...

What I still can't grasp is the fact that KBF plans to add DD while still operating Supreme Scream. Other than that brake run at the bottom of the drop, it is the same thing, just smaller, with less capacity. For some reason, I see Knott's trying to operate Demon Drop as an upcharge attraction at some point, but if Screamin' Swing wasn't turning enough of a profit, how would this? Why would I, the park guest, want to pay money for a drop tower with a lie-down brake run, only to go to the other side of the park and ride a much taller, more thrilling drop tower for free? It won't make much sense if the park did this, but then again, sending Demon Drop to KBF makes no sense either.

It still doesn't add up. Cedar Fair is already getting rid of Demon Drop at CP due to the fact that they already have PT (one of many reasons...), but they're contradicting themselves by sending it to KBF? As I have said numerous times, this just doesn't make sense.

Taller? Yes. More thrilling? I have to say no (even though it really is an opinion thing). S&S towers are fun, don't get me wrong, but there's something about the real freefall of an Intamin that's way more thrilling IMO, even the 1st gen ones.

...we already have a tower drop ride though....and the way they do the lines just pisses me off, they make it seem like you're right near the ent. to the ride, and BAM you do like 100 circles around the ride before you can get on.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

I really thought it would end up at Worlds of Fun. Their PR manager tells me quite frequently how he wants the ride for the park. I think it would probably do more good there than at Knott's.

does anyone know what SFMM did with their drop tower? it was gone last 2 times i went. and as far as KBF goes. why would they charge for a drop tower? its not worth an upcharge price. the one i rode at SFMM before it was removed was not that great.

SFMM, (Or was it SFOT?) imploded theirs if I remember correctly. And I agree with guitarplayer673 in saying that this ride is far more fun then any S&S Tower.

I agree. I got to ride the one at SFGAdv before it was taken out for that pice of poop wild mouse. It is definitly more fun and a really cool design compared to the drop towers. It is still my favorite flatride.
