I need a name and a theme!

Style: Wooden Coaster (Trailored 2 Seat)
Structure: Hybrid
Length: 2,820 feet
Highest Point: 96 feet
Lowest Point: 11 feet
Cubic Area: 277 feet x 85 feet x 618 feet
Max Positive G: 3.2
Max Negative G: 1.0
Max Lateral G: 1.4

For the time being the station looks really long.. I'm not finished modeling it that is all. I have no theme remember? The station you see will fit two 7-car Trailored 2 seat trains comfortably. If the brick doesn't match the theme I choose on than it can very quickly and easily be re-textured. I am really looking to finally do some elaborate 3ds. I usually just do a custom station and that is it. I want to do something more than that, so be creative with theme ideas. I don't care, maybe a castle theme or something? Whatever the theme ends up being, I want to be able to incorporate it with the entire coaster. Not just sections or whatever, the whole thing!

Lateral bracing supports will come in the future, don't worry about that..

Hmmmm, with the stone station and what not, I think it should be some sort of Vampire-ish or Halloween theme, and beings it's around that time of year anyways.

Ahh! You sparked an idea in my head. I'll post some pics in a few days to let you guys see the start of this project. It will take a long while to complete, but it'll be totally awesome!

I saw the picture and the first thing that came to mind was some sort of 20's/30's prison break or something in the Roaring twenties.

I'm sorry, DO NOT DO VAMPIRES!!!!!!, I am sick of this F*ing vampire fad.

My advice, do something like frankenstein. Its a wooden coaster (looks older) and it's a castle station (frankensteins castle). That's what I would do
Coaster Count: 582 // Top Five: 1. Helix 2. Nemesis 3. Big Bad Wolf 4. Boulder Dash 5. Balder

Yeah, I just meant something along those lines. You know, something castle-ish.

"prison break" and "something castle-ish" are very close to what I actually have in mind.

Just to clarify Turbo, it has a hybrid structure.

Keep posting suggestions if you like guys, but I would say just to wait for me to post some pics in a few days time.

--edit--

Do you guys think the layout looks cool?

Ehh, I don't think it is.. Here are two close examples of real roller coasters for comparison.

Terminator Salvation: The Ride vs This Coaster
Height: 95' vs 96'
Length: 2877' vs 2820'

Mammut vs This Coaster
Height: 98' vs 96'
Length: 2821' vs 2820'

I think it looks pretty good! I like how the pre-lift goes through the station.

As for the name. How about Carcassonne? (It's a castle in France)
Just keep scrolling...

I LIKE ROARING 20s

But I do have to agree with Tidus on this one it does look just a bit short to be frank with you.

Griffonluv: "the pre-lift goes through the station." You are mistaken. That is actually the very end of the ride. Below is a birds-eye view of the track in the editor and a 3d view of the pre-lift. Check that out. As for the name, Carcassonne is actually really cool. I will think about it.

A113: If two people say it, then maybe it is a little short. It's a little too late though to fix that I think. Either way, I still think it is a very thrilling and fast-paced experience that mostly everyone here on CC will enjoy.

Thanks. It took a while to get it right, but it's a very fun/forceful pre-lift.

Tis the season for Halloween themes, IMHO. I once tried (miserably, i might add) to theme a coaster to the Diablo game series. Your castle thing in the screenshot, along with your avatar, sort of reminds me of that. A new Diablo game is in the works too, so it's somewhat relevant. Finish up the castle thing, plaster the coaster with guts, blood, and body parts, and you'll have yourself a mighty fine Halloween coaster.

or maybe not. LOL just an idea though.

What about this type of style/colors for a castle? It seems a little bright, should I darken it? Maybe someone has a better texture I can use instead of the bricks that Sketchup has..? Any opinion about the flag on top? It is black for now, maybe it could be red?

In the first picture, you can see a small break between the tower and the tunnel under the station. Do you think I should combine those two to make one long/dark tunnel?

Yes, I think it would look better too, as long as the combo stayed as close to the ground as possible.

I think you should darken the brick to make it a little more spooky looking.

no! Leave the gap, it's a very cool feature! To go in and out and in to a tunnel again like that gives a great sensation of speed and it definitely looks better with you able to see the track like that

Well, now that there's a better picture of what he's talking about, yeah, I definitely agree with gouldy.

Alright, I'm going to try and find a better texture for the walls. If I can't find anything I will modify the current one to fit the style we are going for a little better.

The tower at the end will be complete darkness inside. What should I do with the tunnel just before it now? It isn't very long, so complete darkness would be un-realistic. Should I add white mist/fog in it or should I leave it as it is? I would like to put something in there to make the brick head-chopper at the end of it less noticeable from a distance.

If you can't find a darker texture then darken the track.

I can edit the texture for you if you want. I can make it a bit darker or desaturate it, unless you already have GIMP.

Put a bloody saw blade on the ceiling of the short tunnel.
