Well, they probably appreciate your criticism positive or negative. Also, they aren't going to intentionally anger someone that could be apart of their profits.

Also, just for reference, how much space (guess) is there from the bottom seat, up to the lap bar?

And as far as your no movement thing goes, is it just the "banna bump" that keeps your lower half from moving? I haven't ridden an X car, so I wouldn't know.

THEY'RE GONNA BE AWESOME AND THAT IS ALL OK BYE.

Although I do think the Timberliners are a cross between the Millenium Flyers and the Gerstlauer Junior Coaster cars.

This trend of discarding PTC trains is seriously getting out of control. I feel like PTC may be in danger of going under if they don't come up with something competitive soon.

They should leave the fiberglass off the chassis, I think it looks nicer that way.

PTC needs to make anti gravity trains so they can just glide all the way through and go at amazingly flying scream monkey speeds!

Well, they invert without shoulder harnesses so they have to make sure they feel "safe" to the GP, so the rides aren't too intense, but yeah basically they absolutely clamp you into the seat at the waist

Just like in the 50s with NAD trains......and the 80s with Morgans.....and the early 2000s with Gerstlauers.....Right? Oh wait...no.

There are too many trains currently running that will need parts/rebuilding. PTC will never go under.

Also...what other trains have been replaced PTCs lately? The only other ones I can think of are Stampida and Hershey Wildcat.

I agree. It seems that they are the only coaster designers with a facebook page (you may have seen my 'Hades is awesome' comments, lol). Actually, never mind, I just checked, and GCI also has a FB page, but it doesn't look as dedicated as Gravity Group's. And besides that, pretty much every park has a page on facebook.

It seems that in the long run, SF master plan is more then likely to replace all of the PTC hardware, and all of the rides with out steel structures.

This was also said about Arrow, and look how that worked out. Parts for some of their Custom rides are getting scarce and expensive. S&S is still making parts, but when they have to make a small quantity of parts for certain rides, they can't give a wholesale discount.

PTC will end up the same way, even if someone bought them, they made a lot of different trains, and some rides are going to change over to newer trains. Then the parts will become scarce for older rides.

Nothing lasts forever unfortunately.

PTC trains are my favorite trains ever. Literaly EVER. If they went out of business, my heart would simply stop.. and i would die. On the spot. First thing.

They are so OMG IM GONNA DIE!!! feeling.

Especially on the coasters with crazy lats and airtime at the same time on certain parts.

And dont forget Cyclones drops in the back row with the PTCs. Unforgetable.

the design looks very good. The lap bars and seat shap will allow for the restraint to be snug but still allow room for you butt to fly off the seat (similar to b&m clabshells). You guys all talk poop but Im sure the gp will and the park will both agree they like the seats better. you forget that the gravity group are not just engineers/business men, but also coaster enthusiests who are looking to make the most out of their products.

^ Have you ridden an X-Car? The restraints are not at all like B&M clamshells, they really do clamp you down tight. And these restraints look identical to the X-Car ones.

We don't talk poop either, just because it's not your opinion doesn't mean it's poop, as you put it. I agree that we are probably one and the same with the people who design/work at GG, but they have different goals in mind. They make what they think will sell best, and what will appeal to the park/GP the most. Which I can't disagree with, because they run a business, not a hobby. And undoubtedly, the GP thrives a lot more on actually feeling safe on a coaster than enthusiasts do and the fact of the matter is, these restraints and the general look of the train will appeal more to the GP and in terms of marketing and appearance for the park.

BUT, none of that means that I, or others, can't be of the opinion that we dislike the cars for those reasons.

I dont mean poop as in your argument is rubbish, im more directly referring to those that blindly say the new seats suck without any actual feedback about the new trains. They're talking poop on the trains, like, "bleh the new seatz suckz. PTC pwnz da n3wb trainz."

PTC didn't have the catalyst that was X pushing them into bankruptcy. That ride was plain stupid....The concept was never meant to be that big but Six Flags pushed them. It was pretty obvious that they were going to be over budget on it. I bet if Arrow didn't have that project they would have been able to sustain themselves.

They have two different business models as well. One company hasn't changed anything for sixty years, and the other kept moving forward with new innovations, and sometimes they didn't pay off. The problem with X, and why they ran out of money so quick, was Arrow was trying to make a deal with Six Flags so they could open multiple rides across the country. They didn't anticipate all the design flaws, and had to reach into their own pocket to fix them. It should have been written into the contract that Six Flags would pay for the extra weight, but like I said, they were trying to make a deal.

PTC needs to design something that everybody will want. If it happens to be more comfortable trains, or even getting back into designing roller coasters, something needs to be done. As an amusement park, I would want to make my guests happy, and if they keep complaining about pain on one of my rides, I will try to rectify the situation...as long as it is cost effective.
