LOOK AT THE THICKNESS OF THE ORIGINAL HARNESSES!!! lOVELY RIGHT? IT LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE EL TORO. WHICH WOULD HAVE MADE THE RIDE FOR ME.

Image

IF THEY HAD KEPT IT

LOOK NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Image

NOTICE THAT IF THEY HAD NOT THICKENED THEM, THEY WOULD FIT LIKE A CHARM INSTEAD OF ON YOUR LEGS!!!

The question is...

Will this flaw be fixed, and will they be put back to the way they used to be over the off season?

PS- i absolutely love el toros restraints and it is a bummer they didnt turn out the way they were going to originally.

Anyways, those look very very x100 uncomfortable. What kind of bonehead designed those?

Though I've seen those pictures, I didn't notice that Kyle...good call. Haven't been on SROS since the change to Bizarro, but the ones on the train in progress do look better to me. I still say people complain too much about Intamin restraints though...I'm thin yeah but even on El Toro I've probably been stapled really hard maybe a few times out of 50-75 rides. Too many people exaggerate these things, especially enthusiasts who often seem like the biggest crybabies of all.

Uhm... What? Those restraints don't really look that comfortable... How more can you screw up a ride?

They're just thicker .. you would only be uncomfortable if you were of an "exceptional size".

And had an operator check your restraint who likes to push down on it as tight as it will go.

Six Flags idea of reducing weight in the trains, keep those fatties off of it.

They probably had to change cause the state and insurance company have been very strict with them since the 04 accident.

The restraints do feel huge and awkward though. I liked the old T bars better.

2001 was the train collision. 2004 was someone being ejected from the ride.

I still don't get how they can repaint a ride and put speakers in the seats and advertise it as a new coaster. if that isn't a marketing scam i don't know what is.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Don't worry, six flags isn't the only park that does that trick. The General Public doesn't always see the difference so yeah. I know also a park in Belgium that did the same trick. Put on new trains, add a color and one tunnel. And tadaa: New ride! ....Not!
