So, I uploaded a video, and the moment it starts processing, WMG disables the audio. I don't know what their problem is with it, or why YouTube is on their knees sucking their d*cks, but it really needs to stop. I didn't know it was illegal to play music, but The Google, YouTube, and WMG staffs are really a bunch of d*ck holes about it. [irate]

Dont like it, dont use it.
WMG pays YouTube to keep their content out of their videos.
Viacom is the coopration behind it. You can bitch all you want, but its gonna take alot of people for them to change anything.
Also, alot of people credit google for ruining YouTube...not ture. Google actually had nothing to do with the purchase. Google just bought YouTube and told them to go do their thing...

Also, please refrain from using the word d!ckhole...its just not right...
(booty)-hole or just d!ck please....

There's a series of words that people post on their vid descritpions that is some kind of Copyright work around that is a loophole in the US's system. Lemme see if I can find it.

"Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use."

There it is.

They're trying make money off of the site (that's why ads appeared) and simultaneously avoid lawsuits. Don't upload something that violates the law and you won't have a problem.

At least they caught you early.. I had a Cedar Point video uploaded around 3 years ago. ~155,000 views and tons of ratings (avg: 4.5 stars). They removed the audio about a month ago. The video was synced to the music, so then without music it looked just plain dumb. All the FAIL comments started rolling in, etc.. I deleted the video about a week ago.

Yeah, I knew there was something like that, I didn't remember where I saw it.

I did however, find this

We?????????re pleased to announce that we've reached a new and expanded agreement with Google and its YouTube subsidiary that will bring WMG content back to the service as early as the end of the year. Under the agreement, members of the YouTube community will not only be able to access videos and other music-related content from Warner Music Group recording artists and songwriters, but will also gain access to an enhanced user experience on YouTube with a feature-rich, high-quality premium player and enhanced channels.

Well, apparently it does work. I did send in also a dispute form with that as reason. Now the sound is back. [:)]

You can edit the vid's audio; increase the pitch just slightly (but not enough to be really noticeable), and it probably won't be recognized by the audio scanning tech. Certainly easier than filing disputes and dealing with that crap anyways.

Well, copy pasting some words into a dispute vs editing pitch: I'd rather go for the copy and pasted dispute form. It's copy and paste anyhow, No big work on that.

Plus if everyone keeps sending in those dispute forms. They might decide at some point to stop muting and disabling video.
