When you go to the island it is gravel not concrete... I can't quite tell if it is or not.

Looks VERY good! Can't wait, however my graphics will probably die. This is a sacrifice I am willing to make...

Wow, the very last picture looks very realistic. I actually thought it was the real ride until I took a closer look. Extremely accurate as far as I can tell, can't wait for this to be finished!

Gray the colors a bit to make them a bit more realistic!

I couldn't put my finger on it... but something just isn't right with the drop, dude.

Maybe it's that the real drop doesn't start pulling up as fast as yours:

Image

At that conjunction of the two scaffold supports, about halfway down the drop, you can definitely note the inaccuracy. At first I thought it might be the angle, but it definitely isn't. It's plain to the eye that the real MF isn't ready to pull up until a bit later than your recreation.

Just my little segment on that third pic [;)]

-- But other than that extremely tiny niche, this looks absolutely stunning!

^I hope you realize that everytime he redoes the drop he has to redo the 3ds on the drop [lol](or at least modify them)

Obviously he's not going back to change it. I'm just presenting friendly proof that this isn't as good as it could be.

There is a slight difference in the two pictures. And the tree line affects the look of the pictures. So its almost impossible to tell.

^ Yeah, the only real way to tell using those two pictures, is to look at where the supports connect to the track in the two pictures, in relation to the pull up of the drop. And looking at the two pictures, the two drops look almost identical. The tree line makes it look as if they are completely different, probably because the perspective in NL isn't great, depending on what FOV you have it on.

Also the real picture is taken from a slightly shallower angle to the drop, so changes in the pull up of the ride will look slightly less obvious. Whereas the persepective we get of the recreation makes the pull up seem really obvious and as if it pulls up to quickly. I'm not sure that it does, it is very hard to tell.

But the upshot is, I think, judging by the supports, the pull up begins at pretty much the same point .

What is this FOV you speak of? The fish eye lens that NL uses drives me nuts sometimes. I would rather it be more of a wide angle lens to allow better perspective.

In a cynical sort of way, yes it was friendly.

Gerst...

Are you telling me you cannot see that the mill. pic. on rcdb is ZOOMED IN?! This hides the pull-out of the drop with the enlarged trees! Aytrane's pic. is zoomed out, not in, so it shows more. So Gerst...that was a bad pic.

But if it's really going to burn your britches, then why don't you just go on over to Cedar Point, and take pics. of the real ride...

...Because that doesn't waste time.
"Don't be a disability"... yep, still keeping that. :P

FOV - Field of Vision or View, one or the other lol.

press F7 to change it, but be warned, it only gets more and more fish eye like , until you come back round to FOV number 1 again.

The "zoomed in" factorof the live pic doesn't make adifference. Judging by the horizontal supports, atrane's pulls up earlier.
Just keep scrolling...

i believe that the real thing does begin pulling up at the same point, but the lead in is slightly more gradual than what aytrain has at the moment
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

^Pretty hard to determine the exact inflection point from that angle.

Not done yet, and haven't had the time to work on it in awhile. But I did tweak the drop a little this morning.

Yup, this looks quite awesome!
I hope the trackwork is worth the massive amount of time yu put into theming and supports!
