I think that's probably the most exceedingly fruity thing I've ever seen in my life. I'm so glad I realized Glee was terrible in the first 30 seconds of the first episode and never watched more.

^, ^^ At least some stuff happens durring our football. In your "football" nothing ever happens and the players bursting into a chorus of single ladies would actually be an improvement to the game.

yeah... even though i'm english, i hate football or "soccer" such glorified worshipped crap that, in reality, is a bunch of overpaid idiots kicking a ball around and havin a little cry when a fan shouts abuse, it used to be people who actually were GOOD at football and weren't overpayed,i mean, think about their salary, if i was at a game and i thought you sucked i'd tell ya! but hey, now it's all "oooh the fans are sayin nasty things about us!" yeah... real manliness right there... i hate the glorification of pretty much every damn sport. ESPECIALLY football.

I love how people can manage to find their way into these debates over some video written by a guy who probably does or will have the biggest price on their head.

@ Gouldy: Simply by calling it "Real Football" you are continuing the debate. Soccer is not real football. that is why it is called soccer. there is nothing real about soccer. if you want real football skip to 45 seconds in this video and watch the quarterback's right leg.

ummm, I think that soccer(football) sucks ass because they don't allow much (if any) contact, and American football sucks ass because they wear padding (I say grow a pair and play without protection(that's what she said)). Thus, I have come to the conclusion that both games are for pussies. there, I said it...

>Amer. Football: that's more excitement than my school has ever had (besides the EPIC foodfight we had last year). That's love sad :( :( :(

[lol]

Slosprint, no, it actually is called Football. It is called thus, due to the continual contact between foot and ball. It's a simple premise really.

Slosprint, your point is that American Football is "real" because there has been serious injuries involved? An odd point I must say, it's supposed to be a sport and not just a way of watching people being caused hideous injuries. I was saying "Real" Football, as it was called Football before the sport to which you refer was even invented, I think my point is more valid. Also, do you think that this kind of hideous injury doesn't occur in Football? Unfortunately, you are wrong, this kind of bad broken limb occurs at least once a season in England alone and in the last 6 years at least 3 professional footballers, across the world in the public eye, have died during play (IMO, that's a pretty serious injury). In whatever sport, you are always going to get bad injuries, it's unavoidable)

There's no point in me trying to argue that one sport is better than the other, and neither is there point in you arguing it to me, as we are both entrenched into our ways and there's no turning us. What I can argue against though is you seemingly claiming that firstly American Football is "real" (as opposed to... imaginary?) because bad injuries occur? And your second point is that there is nothing "real" about Football, because these kind of injuries don't happen? Even though they do? I think that you have your priorities wrong with your definition of "sport".

If it is that kind of thing you are interested in, why don't you simply watch illegal bare knuckle fighting and be done with it? I tend to be more interested in the tactics involved, the beauty of a good flowing passing move and the passion involved in the game in England, Europe, Africa, South America etc... Each continent and country with it's own individual characteristics of the game. The severity of a guys injury isn't actually that big a draw for me, to be honest, I feel I'm slightly above that... but... yeah.

oops, I missed this before.

I think what you're referring to is the inccident involving Sol Campbell? The "nasty things" in question were racial slurs, which the game is attempting to rid itself of, I honestly don't think this is a bad thing. There is no problem with fans abusing the players, it goes on all the time at every ground in the country, but racism, mate, I think is slightly different.

Your other point is nearly correct though. Morally, they are paid way too much. The point is often made that "Soldiers should be paid more than Footballers", and the answer to this is simple: Morally, yes, economically, no. What most people simply ignore when this kind of statements is made is just how much money individual players make for the club. One goal, scored in the right game, at the right time can earn a club ?????????60million, if it's in the Champions League final, or the Championship Playoff final for example. Not only that, but shirt sales with player names on can fetch further millions for the club. I think Footballers are well within their rights to claim the millions that they do as it is only a fraction of the money they make for their respective clubs. But I agree that morally it is wrong, being as it is just a sport and they, for the most part, are mainly ill-educated working class people who got lucky.

^ Going back to the first post, how in the heck did they do that dance without being penalized for a delay of game? there was one second left in the fourth quarter, and at that points timeouts are only thirty seconds. They took over 2 minutes doing that.
