My newest creation is a "compact" intamin accelerator, dubbed XTR4, meaning xtreme 4ce (extreme force). The layout of the ride is "compact" as it travels only along the horizontal plane. The ride features a hydraulic launch to 94mph, and a 290 foot inverted tophat. It has a 180 degree vertical downward heartline twist (thanks to haydawg149). In order for this ride to travel on one plain for most of the ride, the launch track is located directly beneath the brake track, resulting in multiple high-speed headchoppers.

Progress:
Track: 90%
Supports: 5%
Cartexture: 100%
Scenery: 2%

the layout is definately original.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

thanks, i had in mind that i wanted to create a compact accelerator that was about 300 ft, but i couldnt think of a practical way to make it compact, until i thought of this. The nice thing is, it could be reversed to have the spiral on the upward spike, and have a regular non-inverted tophat.

nice layout...but the transition into the heartline roll could be a little smoother...and the cartexture looks awesome!!!

yeah, thats one of the track issues i've got to fix.
Ive also got a few questions so i can make this ride better.

-How can I shape the transitions from flat to vertical to lower the vertical forces? Right now the forces are a bit too high, but i dont want to increase the size of the arcs any more.

-How can i get a smoother transition to and from vertical? When it becomes verticle on the upward spike, it feels jolty, and the same wen it exits into the inversion.

-How can i more smoothly transition from the inversion (inverted tophat peak) to the roll? It feels ok, but something about it dosent seem right.

it travels along a single plain(except for the turnaround at the end), so it could be placed in a skinny area. It's not intended to be compact in the way some coasters are, but it's compact for it's size.

Yes, this seems like a very interesting track and I look forward to seeing it completed and downloading it. Are you on No Limits Exchange musicmonkey?

Okay. Seems like an uninteresting/crappy idea. Besides it's unrealistic.

way to be a downer griffonluv. How is this crappy, and why is it at all unrealistic?

^ it looks like somebody got up on the wrong sife of the bed thismorning

I like the idea of the regular tophat and a straight, non-spiraled drop. to be honest i think spirals on drops ruin them. it might also be a good idea to have the launch on top of the brakes. this would allow the drop to be larger and the launch to be shorter because it would not need to accelrate to such a high speed, thus saving more space.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

yeah, but you can't put the launch on top, or there would be no place for the hydraulic equipment. the cable would have to go through the other track!

the spiral is actually quite smooth, it would be plenty comfortable.

This idea celebrates the reason why the had to reroute Ka's queue.

yeah, but if i make it any longer (hence less tight), it wouldnt leave enough room for the curve back down.

That's what he said! (Had to do it)

And I'm not serious about what I said. I'm just saying it's real gimmicky and kinda not as original as it could be.

the point of it is to be a prototype for a design that could be realistically implemented. Its more for the layout itself than the details, as, although it looks simple, so are all the big accelerators.
I just like the idea, so i made it. Thats about it.
