B&M Contest!!! ( Rules/Steps/Grading Rubric)

Discuss anything involving No Limits Coaster Simulation.

OK this is my first B&M No Limits Contest. This Contest will start on January 8th & ends January 31st. Here are the Rules, Steps, and Grading Rubric



RULES:

1. Of Course it needs to be a B&M Coaster (It can be any type of B&M Coaster)
2. All of the supports need to be custom made,(NO ASG)
3. You may use the AHG, and everything else. BUT THE ASG.
4. The max height is 300ft. Min 80ft
5. Must include scenery. ( You may use No Limits Terraformer)
6. Must be a Continuous Operating Mode. NO SHUTTLE MODE!
7. Needs a name.


STEPS:

1. PM me if you would like to join the Contest. ( Im taking a Max of only 30 Contestants. SO HURRY!!!)If I APPROVE your PM msg then you are in the Contest.
2. Build the best B&M coaster.
3. When finished write all the stats about your coaster and put it in the Track Info Box. ( Located in the coaster drop down view.
4. When finished with everything e-mail your coaster to my e-mail address ( coasterjammer_101@yahoo.com) PLEASE E-MAIL YOUR COASTER ON THE CONTEST IS CLOSED!!!





GRADING RUBRIC: *= how important something is

*****Smoothness:____/75 pts*****
**Scenery:_____/35 pts**
*****Supporting:_____/70 pts*****
**Creativity:_____/30 pts**
****Adrenaline:_____/50 pts****
Total:_____/250 pts

Bonus Points:
*3D Objects:_____/10 pts*
*Make your own Car textures for your Coaster:_____/10 pts*
***Dueling Coaster:_____/30 pts***

3. You may use the AHG
So, only AHG, no other tools?
I'm not really sure about that one...
Not many people will join if there's such a restriction...
At least allow elementary, I don't care about Newton. Actually it would be funny if Newton 2 wasn't allowed.

Only one other thing really, make sure you will judge all the tracks on the same criteria!
Like, take for example the rating guide, I think Symbiotic wrote it a while ago, and rate according to that.

So your implying that you can pull -2.1gs and 5.2 gs on a B&M Hyper

ok i fixed everything. sorry i had it like that i was in a big rush so everything was zooming in and out of my head to quick. but i fixed it. no more G problems and im not grading the names. so check it out now.

Why don't you just say "E-MAIL ME YOUR B&M COASTER, BUT HURRY!!! I'LL RIDE AND RATE WITH NO INCENTIVE FOR YOU!! IF THERE IS A WAY THAT I COULD MAKE THIS MORE VAGUE, PLEASE PM ME! BUT HURRY!!" That should accomplish about the same thing.

Seriously? No, SERIOUSLY?

SkyLindlar, you are dictating exactly what the coaster has to be, and if I'm not mistaken, the required elements, which leaves very little room for creativity. That's not a challenge, that's not fun, that's a request! Make that coaster yourself if that's what you want to ride! Here is a sarcastic example of your idea of a contest:

1) Coaster Type MUST be Classic Steel Looping
2) Coaster MUST have a curving left lift hill 65-70 ft. in height.
3) Coaster MUST have a first drop with a grade of 30 Degrees.
4) Coaster MUST then have 4 air time hills, after the 3rd, there MUST be a turn!
5) HAVE FUN AND BE CREATIVE!

I can't wait to read the rates for that contest! "Well, you used a 32 Degree first drop, so I'm going to have to take off for that." "You had 5 air time hills and three turns, that's clearly not in the rulez, EPIK PHAILURE!!"


Now, on to CoasterJammer. Might as well just say "Hey guys, keep uploading whatever you're working on right now, I'll rate them!" If you add into this that other people can rate too and that a prize is awarded at the end of the week to the top 3 coasters, then how the hell is that any different than what we are doing right now?


The point is, there is a careful balance between freedom and restrictions that helps to hone everyone's creativity. That balance makes a fun and entertaining contest. NEITHER OF YOU TWO HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT THAT IS! Give all these incessant contests a rest until you can figure this out.

I don't think it's tight at all. Personally...I think that it's really loose.

7. Needs a name. - Wow, I have never seen a ride so far without a name. [lol]

Ok, so we have to sign up before the contest starts. Since there is NO TEMPLATE that means we can start right away. So what's the point of having a signup deadline?
Or at least add some proper G-force rules and a nice template. [:)]

ASG creates free nodes instead of track nodes.
