Yay! We have a severe tornado warning in souther California! [:D] Waterspouts have been seen off Long Beach and the warning is moving further south. I am going to sandwhich myself between two matresses in case I get picked up and flown around so when I land it's soft! [lol]

It won't be soft because they're spring mattresses.

Were the dumbasses who built on a hill concerned that what the scientists said would happen might happen?

its not the fact that we built on a hill....its the fact that the station fire destroyed all vegetation on the mountains above us, so there is nothing holding it back....on a funnier note, there was a woman who was arguing with La Canada's fire chief and said she refused too evacuate because she, and i quote, "lives on top of the hill, and mud doesn't flow uphill!". . .

Since you decided to tell everyone in chat that your IQ is ten points above genius I am going to do the following:

1. "Its" should be "it's".
2. Your period usage, holy crap.

Thanks for your ill-informed information and detail lacking simplification of geomorphic processes, you've really educated me today. Thank god I don't need to consider things like:

*Your house increasing runoff drastically
*Your house and the surrounding developments being the largest cause of vegetation loss before the fire
*How types of clay and minerals react to water in your local soil
*Inevitable and unavoidable (well almost) creep
*How the weight of your house affects shearing forces
*Local faults

I'm sure you already knew that though and were just dumbing it down for the rest of us simple minded folks that aren't as gifted as someone like you. After all we aren't gifted enough to have to take an IQ test a tutoring center like you probably did.

Remember, everything you achieve beyond high school will be funded by/given to you by your parents and you probably will not have earned any of it. Enjoy the car your parents buy for you (Acuras are pretty popular with the rich types for kids nowadays. Landrovers and Infiniti's aren't ritzy enough anymore apparently), it'll probably be the best one you'll ever have.

Listen, I'm not going to fight with you. I'm sorry if I offended you, but

A. IQ does not mean knowledge. This is a common mistake. IQ has more to do with a person's aptitude.
B. I was only stating the facts that I knew. Decreased vegetation=greater risk of mudslides. I'm sure whoever built my house took the factors of the earth into account and had to do an Environmental Impact Report.
C. I'm not sure where me being rich is factored into the equation. 0_0
D. I gave the example of the woman because I thought it was funny.
E. I made the statement about the station fire for those people who were not informed of it and why mudslides are especially risky now in its aftermath. I had no intention of dumbing it down as I know that the members of this site are intelligent.

Once again I'm sorry if I in any way offended you. I believe we got off to a bad start. I hope we can stop our quarreling as it gets us nowhere positive. Much more can be accomplished if we're all nice to each other. =D
