i personally dont like the year rule as this way it is a privalage to the active and good members of the forum comunity and not just the people in the background who feel like poping up after a while. keep the rules as is hyyyper

Agreed, if the rule was changed to a 1 year membership, somebody could have two accounts that they used in contests each year.

I have given it some thought and I will not use the 1-year rule. 50 post-rule will stay and unless you have made 50 (nonspam) posts) you are not in.

i still think that the 1 year rule would make it possible for people to have 2 accounts and enter twice while still losing nothing.

Why not just make it 50 posts or one coaster of above 5/10?

then all anyone would have to do is upload a less-than-decent coaster on thier other account, again, it would make it easy to have more than one subission.

So, I'm honestly sort of confused about how the 50-post rule prevents double entires...would someone mind explaining? I understand the rule, and I think it's a good one as it keeps the super-n00bs from entering and bloating the field, but that's really the only advantage I see.

If they use that account only for the contests... We'd still notice it by seeing the same ip addresses. Plus would some people really want to wait a full year to join a contest twice?
Also, that 50 post rule can still be avoided on the same way. Make a 2nd account with 50 non-spam posts over a year time and you're able to enter twice...

Both rules would require anyhow to let people wait at least a year (or with one rule, spam the forums) to join in a contest and I don't think some people actually would take the effort to go that far.

And as I mentioned above anyhow. Any suspicion of double accounts can always be checked by ip...
