Hi coaster fans! I found this coaster a while ago on youtube and thought about sharing it a while ago but kept putting it off and forgetting it until now. So here it is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TeSAmoGUBf4

It's a good concept, but horribly executed. Crappy trackwork and way too many prefab supports. When I was a n00b, I thought it was a great coaster, but these days I could probably make a much better ride with 3 launches of increasing speeds.

I had an idea of doing (almost) the same thing... but it was pretty bad.

yes, but the transitions were pumpy and terrible and in that case you don't want something to be fast because it might kill you.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Why is it that so much people care more about realism than having fun in virtual reality? You can do anything in virtual reality, like become a jedi, fly an airplane, drive a racing vehicle. Why is it that people want virtual reality to be just like boring actual reality?

Well then, impress me. Either upload the video to youtube or upload the track to the coaster exchange, but I'd like to see you try making a better coaster.

@Racecarlock:

For your first reply:

Nobody is saying NL coasters have to be super-realistic. A ride can go over a volcano crater, or dive over a cliff made of ice, and still be a good fantasy coaster. But these rides, if uploaded to CC, would still be rated on technical stuff, not just adrenaline and originality. A coaster with smooth track, safe G-forces, and well made custom supports is still a better ride than one with jerky, unsafe track and a bunch of prefab supports. Unfortunately, Mach 3 falls into the later category:

For your second reply:

I accept your challenge. Excelsior is now under construction. When complete, it will feature a 60 mph launch, a 90 mph launch, and a 120 mph launch. I'm currently working on trackwork for the 90 mph section.

Umm... no. Mach 3 was made in 2008, so there were tools like elementary and AHG around. This is like arguing that a handbuilt coaster is a better ride than a Newton coaster of the same track quality.

Aww, those are my two favorite stats. [:D]
Also, upload to both CC and youtube.

Hahaha. Where did you get taht info? Of course AHG and elementary were available in 2008. that's when I learned to use FVDs!

Mach 3 was uploaded November 2008, with the trailer appearing July 2008.
Since the builder never stated in either video description that it was an "old ride", and it can't possibly have taken more than 7 months to create, so it stands to reason that it was built some time during 2008.

WOAH! What the hell is up with you guys? The layout was nice, the concept was great; yeah, the shaping and technical aspects need work but for a handbuilt ride it's probably slightly above average.

Okay, the guy who made it probably isn't a member here, but trashing the ride in his absence doesn't exactly give good impressions!
