Ive heard that this isnt a very good ride. But i watched some povs of it and such and it looks like it has a great launch and keeps its speed up really well. Plus it seems to have alot of airtime.

How good is it? just curious[:)]

It's an awesome ride. The launch is amazing for the actual speed and acceleration of it, it feels much faster. It has some pretty good airtime, and I love the helix at the end. It was executed great for what they had to work with (the remains of Buzzsaw Falls). The worst part of it is probably the seats. The lapbar is good if you don't get it down too far, it goes down another notch about every inch.

B and M isn't a fan of it, but I personally love it. Probably usually has the longest line out of any other coaster too.

I have ridden PK several times, and I haven't been disappointed with any rides! The launch is the best part, how you shoot over the hill and have that view of the valley as you do it..

The ride's pacing is very strange. It starts out fast and forceful, then there's the lift, and then it picks up again. It's very unique. My favorite ride on it was in the front at night, the ride goes down into a valley and it's very dark you can't see exactly where you're going. I liked it during the day, but I loved it at night.

PowerKeg and WildFire absolutely make the trip to the park worthwhile.

I didn't even check the posted dates . . . and to be honest, I don't mind thread resurrection. Mods on many sites complain about people just creating topics and not using the search tool to see if something had already been discussed. If someone wants to discuss something I don't think it matters when the thread was created. Now, I'm not blaming anyone in this particular case, but I've seen people on other sites complain about thread resurrection and then immediately turn around and complain that something had been discussed and they should have done a search . . .

Yeah... 2 month old topic. Man this thing was just rotting away!

Don't listen to coasterpimp, nutznboltz. As you can see by his definition of old topics, he isn't exaclty right in the brain [lol]

trust me, I am not listening to him... if I go through the different pages which I do, and come across an old thread I want to respond to, I WILL respond to it.

Thanks!

We've had worse. Try a 9 year resurrection. I think 2 months is okay.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

Ha im surprised you remembered. But yeah for the most part, i hate it. Its rough and boring. And for some reason, it tends to give me severe motion sickness. Only that ride does not any other one that i have rode has. But it depends on the person i guess. It could be that its air launched. I have ridden air, LIM, LSM, and cable launched rides and i loved all but the air. But again this could just be me.

Have you ridden an air-launched coaster other than Powerderkeg? I wouldn't blame anything on the air-launch itself lol, especially considering this launch in particular wasn't meant to be incredibly intense like the others. I wanted to ride Hypersonic and though I've driven past and seen it I haven't been to KD since '98 when they opened Volcano. Oh well...I've heard bad things but despite all the crazy roughness, it looked like a sick ride to me.

Anyone notice the extremely strange triangle structure supports on that one helix? they are really goofy looking...

yeah, those look sorta impractical.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

There is a clearance issue in that spot, so the supports had to be designed to fit the area. They are still as strong as they need to be, just a creative fix for a problem.

Might have also been to reuse footers from the previous ride.

^That is never recommended. As you can see, they had to have clearance for an access road and a junction box. Due to the topography, this was the cheapest solution.
