Cardboard buildings are gay, but the smoke effects and fire look pretty awesome. Sounds track is pretty poor though! Not worth the headrests.

this is the first POV video I have seen of the ride, the ride itself looks like a nice coaster ride, but yeah some of those effects are cheesy, and I imagine that not everyone gets a view like that, with the high headrests.

how about changing the cars back, closing in the lift and utilize the sound track in there, like the Hulk is set up. once you crest the lift and drop, keep the tunnels, but ditch the cheesy cardboard looking buildings.

Or, changing the cars back, repainting red and blue (even a darker red and/or blue would be nice), removing everything new (buildings, shield "tunnel," fire) and leaving some (different) audio on the lift hill, coming out of speakers?

lol, a guy can dream, can't he?

It sucks !
First SROS and now The Voyage. Those new trains are horrible.
P.S.:Kyle I liked your recreation of SROS !

The buildings actually aren't that bad IMO.....especially since they're in the most dead part of the ride. Gives that section at least something interesting.

Totally.. there are splatters throughout the park actually! The paint is already wearing off, they definitely went the cheap route .. so typical of SF. They don't deserve that ride ;P

Now after I've ridden it I'd noticed how much those new trains kill the ride experience... Those new restraints keep you way too much into your seat. Gone with the freedom of flying. They are also way too big which makes the airtime hurt instead of fun. Why not just keep the the ride that it doesn't matter how far the restraint is closed... (On Goliath in Walibi World you can dispatch with an open restraint, all that needs to fit is the seatbelt.)

Music Sound effects during the ride didn't add anything to the ride. The speakers are blocking the view of about every seat... (Luckily I'm a bit taller so I could look a little over those headrests when I'm sitting in the back of each car.) But since those speakers are so damn close to your ears, it almost sounds like six flags wants to have their riders deaf. I've seen various people having a hard time communicating with eachother when they were waiting on the final brakes...

All those extra effects during the ride weren't needed at all. It looked funny tho...

It's a shame that Six Flags actually killed their #1 coaster and made it a mediocre coaster. The one who came with the idea to change it like that can hang himself... This change proves definitely: You shouldn't change a super(man) coaster into a bizar(ro) coaster...

If the operators just check if the seatbelts and restraints are closed. Then you should be pretty much fine.
But I guess everything has to be idiot proof now in the USA... If he fell out and died. He probably deserved it for being such an idiot...

So because of one handicapped person, six flags ruined it for millions of others. A handicapped person also fell out Poseidon and died because he managed to force the restraints open. I haven't seen those cars or restraints changed.

A park doesn't need to change their trains just because someone wasn't smart enough to stay seated on a 200ft ride. Even if it was in this case a handicapped person, you'd still don't need to change it. In that case the park should have made sure that he couldn't unlock his seatbelt by having that completely under the restraint. And even if he still would manage the grab that seatbelt by wringing to that seatbelt, the restraint should be far enough locked (at that moment) to keep the person in his place until at least the end of the ride...

Yes, because someone was allowed to fall out of the ride, the ride is not safe. If it was safe, he wouldn't have fallen out. The ride dispatched, as you said, with the restraint not locked into place. Whether it was overlooked by the attendant or the restraint itself malfunctioned I'm not sure, but in any case yes, one person dieing is grounds to change it. It was a flawed design that ultimately ended with someone getting killed. At the time it happened, there were no seatbelts on the ride, just the T bar.

The state mandated that the restraints be modified (belts added, sensors to check whether the bar is down, shin bars). When the first pictures of Bizarro's trains surfaced, they had the same lapbars as El Toro. I'm going to bet it was the state's decision to make them use the "large" ones.

Stop with the 'just blame Americans because they're stupid' bullshit, when a ride throws a rider it isn't safe (exception being Raven, which was rider (enthusiast) stupidity). SROS isn't the only Intamin that has thrown someone out. They clearly have design faults as their safety record is not as good as most other manufactures, thus they needed a change.

Also, "ruining it for millions of others" would have been taking the ride out. I still enjoy Bizarro quite a bit and while I don't like the new restraints, it certainly doesn't ruin the ride for me.

I didn't really mind the new restraints to be honest. I never got to ride it as Superman, and I do prefer the T-bars on Millennium Force or TTD over what's on Bizarro now, but the way it is now really isn't that bad IMO. Yes they're clunky and dig into your thighs a little more, but to me that doesn't make the airtime any less awesome even if it hurts a little bit (it only took me one ride to figure out how to not get stapled too badly). I can tell the ride would have been even better before the theme change, but Bizarro, as it is now, is my still favorite coaster that I've been on so far.

Oh and I do think the "music" is pretty obnoxious and unnecessary, but does it make the ride worse? I don't think so, to me it's still a roller coaster with a great layout and the best airtime I've experienced on anything so far.

Well, Shapiro's not the CEO of Six Flags anymore. He resigned.

Also, I have to say the change from X to X2 was good. The ride is now much better.

^^ True. Bizzaro has the restraint size equivalent to Michael Bay's total pyrotechnics budget: uber size. Whats more they look like they're made of pure fiberglass. The transformation was stupid, but I dislike the Great Adventure one even more.

They're hard foam just like the original T bars were.

I think it happened about 2-3 years ago. And after a quick search I can't find it anymore. Hmmm... I'll do a proper search when I get back home...

Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Bump. I just rode super... I mean Bizarro again two days ago and was reminded of just how bad the changes were. What little legroom there was is now completely gone, the restraints suck and hit you on your legs rather than your waist. One of the mist streams in the tunnel is broken and now just squirts water all over you, the sound is obnoxiously loud and doesn't have a shut off button (it would be greatly improved if you had a switch in front of you that let you turn the speakers off), and the capacity is reduced even more due to the sound box taking up an entire row. I am also pretty sure that the new trains run slower than the old ones. I tried to make out the plot of the story going on in the speakers and here is what I came out with:

A reporter has been eaten by the council

The police go to find the reporter, but by that time the council has somehow managed to open up a wormhole

Some idiot falls in the wormhole

For no reason somebody shouts "didn't your dad ever teach you to..." and you go down the hill confused as to what our dad was supposed to have taught us

several loud explosions and screams

something about a missile

some nerd shouts "It's game over, man!" and you go into the misty tunnel

more explosions and screams

For no reason whatsoever somebody decided to insert "YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH"

then you hit the brakes and some awful music which sounds like it was written by a retarded, middle-aged accountant starts playing in which the only lyrics are "bizarro" over and over again.

You leave the ride confused and with a headache.

All in all, nothing was improved, and what was once a great ride is now mediocre, due partially to the fact that they tried to give it a plot and failed miserably.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.
