That's a pretty clever way to cover it. I bet they follow those plans.

It's definitely a re-theme of the whole area on the cards:

Rita's station is going to be looking a little different from now on. I wonder about a name change for Rita?

it says "CONTROL" I hope that isn't the name, it sounds dumb as hell.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

The Rita themeing has basically stayed the same, it's just thgat everything is now covered in these like roots of the tree and stuff. So, that "Control" was there before, it's just now been like sprayed with faeces and had roots put all over it [:)]

EDIT:

http://www.rcdb.com/2787.htm?p=11993

actually, it has been slightly changed, if you look, previously it said "race control" in a slightly different text and postion. But the idea of the themeing, I think, is that Rita has been taken over by this thing, whatever it is. So the Rita themeing is the same, only covered in poop.

^ there actually is. I've seen pictures of the trains in the last couple of days, but I don't know why I didn't upload tham onto here. Can't find them again now, but the picture were of some pointless British celebrity (Alex Reid) posing in the trains.

Let me see if I can find them again... unless someone else can.

EDIT: Found them:

Dammit! You have to be 18 to "train" for the first ride!

To kick-start the search, Alton Towers has put together a team of experts, including Alex Reid, who will put wannabe riders through their paces in a series of gruelling tests including psychometric testing, an interrogation interview, two hour physical assessment, rollercoaster endurance (1 hr of continuous rides on Air) and midnight bootcamp.

Not for the faint-hearted, then.

For more information and to apply visit www.altontowers.com/thirteen

That sounds cool, I want to apply! [:D]

Edit:
You need to upload an application video of yourself to YouTube to apply, and provide a link to the video below. The video must be no longer than 60 seconds, and include answers to the questions:

* Tell us why you deserve to be one of the first people to ride Thirteen?
* Tell us something weird or wonderful about yourself?

Gah... Video interview. Screw that! [lol]

That's actually a really clever idea on AT's part! Maybe a little too elaborate, but the idea's good. Now I just hope that the ride lives up to this massive amount of hype!

I still would like the chance to ride air continuously for an entire hour!

Well that part's definitely OK, but the whole video interview thing and all of the other tests and such. I just think it's ridiculous if the ride isn't like the greatest thing in the world.

Which it blatantly won't.

And the testing begins. There are huge fences around Ug land at the moment so you can barely see anything, even though the park has been open this weekend. From what i've heard though a few people have caught glimpses through the trees, and have seen the trains go up the lift etc. Apparently it looks fast. The lift hill has been said to be similar to Spinballs regarding speed upon the ascent, which is good. And that video there shows the ride keeps up its momentum well, and doesnt actually need the second lift. Instead, the tires on the second lift act as just a small push at the top so the ride is still going pretty quickly into the hidden section. IMO this is great news, if it keeps its speed well enough to climb that second lift on its own, those first few bunny hills, which are extremely low compared to the first drop, are going to be taken very fast. [:D]

Also some pics of testing from some random guys photos:

Just shows the trains and a few bits and bobs.

I really hope that theming on the way into the drop section of the ride, isn't finished.

I seriously doubt it is man. It makes sense to theme that section last, as there will be a lot of technical equipment to test, and if anything needs adjusting, it would surely be easier to adjust without a mound of themeing surrounding it. I expect that will be the last section we see finished, as they also have to theme the inside of this section, and get what i expect is a show section ready, before they can start on the outside. Also remember it is mainly going to be scaffolding etc which takes little time to erect.

haha Tidus, but i would be the last person to provide a link to some boobs [lol]

New Video of the ride traversing the first airtime hill at quite a speed. The rest of the hills are lower than this one as well, further down in the woods. It looks as though the ride could be pretty quick.
