With your point saying that there will be no "classic" wooden coasters anymore almost in my opinion justifies a new look for them. But yeah, you can't really debate the look as its all personal opinion. My vote is that I like the look and can't wait to see what parks do with 'em.

Wooden coasters ARE evolving into modern coasters, they are bigger, faster and smoother than their earlier predecessors were. The new trains are meant to help preserve the coasters overall life span and/or make for a better ride. I rode the Voyage last year, and the ride was wild, insane, out of control, and I loved every minute of it, but it was honestly the only coaster I have ever ridden that made me feel like I had gotten a workout from riding it, I was banged around like crazy. I for one am excited about checking out the new trains and seeing how the ride is changed from last year.

That's what made it (and other wood coasters on it's level) good. Everything is too safe and smooth now......The whole reason I don't like steel coasters.

This video makes me excited to be having these on voyage next year. The restraints look like they fit just right no matter how low because of their odd shape and the cars look very comfortable and look like they will have good lateral Gs support.

Cool, looks like they took the x-car restraint system and put it on their timberliners. Well, i have no complaints about those restraints so far so bring it on! [:)]

if you cant run a wooden rollercoaster with ptcs , no seat divider and buzzbars then you built it too big.. i think these are horrendous .

Oh man, how many rides would be so much better with this old school configuration. It is amazing what a little room and freedom to move your body can do for a ride.

I got a chance to sit in that car a month ago. I'd say they rival B&M seats for comfort. I really like them.

PTC's are just classic and a true wooden coaster design. If it doesn't hurt, it's not good imo...

It's not all about comfort with these trains. The main reason they are putting these in are to reduce maintenance costs. Gravity Group rides have a reputation for tearing themselves apart. Holiday World is a smaller park and it's harder for them to keep shelling out money to keep the ride together.

Couldn't they have just added the new wheel assembly to the current trains, instead of making them look so ugly?

Who actually wants lateral support on a woodie? Sure the train's will appeal to the gp, but i love getting roughed up on coasters.

But yeah, surely the point of a wooden coaster is that you get thrown around a bit. Megafobia is probably the best I've ridden and the whole reason that's so amazing is because you're constantly being thrown from one side of the car to the other.

By lateral support i mean it would be comfortable when you get thrown onto the sides the same way it is comfortable in ptcs.

I have never, ever experienced comfort in hitting the side of a PTC train. Grand National, Gwazi and Megafobia to name a few all hurt like hell!!! All quite old i suppose.
