Hmm, I'll be interested to see the descriptions behind these. Glad to see I made it though though.

Oh and sorry for sounding too serious Oscar[:p], slow day here.

ha, I don't know if it's a low or fast day for me. It's one of those days that I am bouncing all over the place but really am dead tired that I may fall asleep driving [lol]

You probably built a realistic track. Hyyyper doesn't like though.

So here's the updated roster for the 3rd round. You may start intimidating your oponents now. As for the ratings, i'd say 3 t0 5 days.

How could that possibly take 3 to 5 days unless you haven't actually written anything yet?

Fail. How did Vid lose, but is proceeding to the next round? You didn't list if Kevin Brennan or Jimmy Yoshi is going to the next round.

And I haven't been following on this thread for months so..

^None of them submitted a track. I'm proceeding because my track got the highest rating among the losers.
Fail on your part there boyo...

It shows that you haven't been following this thread...

Kevin nor Jimmy entered a track. Therefore, Vid, having the highest rates of all the losing tracks, gets the pass to the next round.

I just can't believe Jakizle lost to coasterdave.

I am not overly chuffed with my score either...
I think Ckidmwm should have got higher too.

Not decided if i am bothering with Round 3 or not yet.

No. Notes/ratings produced first and then numbers added.

Congrats to Lewis13, I have to say that your track was really quite something.

On a slightly different note; the anonymous rating system means that none of your reputations preceed you and that the tracks are rated entirely on their merits, not your past personal acheivements. If your track was rated lower than the other person in your pairing, it is because their coaster was better than yours. Deal with it, accept it with some kind of dignity and move on.

Im as suprised as you are.

As for Ckmwm's ride, I was able to get the ride stuck between the station and the launch, so I can see where his score could have been hit, but not as low as it is...

Maybe if we were able to use a non-retarded launching system it would be okay.

PS it's rated low because it flat out sucks.

There were some parts I enjoyed, like the exit of the mcbr into the helix, getting faster and faster.

CKMWM's coaster didn't suck, there were a couple of technical flaws and the ride did sort of drone out towards the end, but it was still a pretty good ride. I think some of you guys have a slightly warped opinion of what a good score is. 6.58 is a "GOOD" score.

0-2, appalling
2-4, poor
4-5, below average
5-6, above average
6-7.5, good
7.5-8.5, very good
8.5-9.5, excellent
9.5+, legendary.

Hence; all of the rides acheived an "above average" score or better.

As for alton_'s comment:

"I just can't believe Jakizle lost to coasterdave."

While I understand that on paper this sounds like a foregone conclusion (no offence to coasterdave), you are basing this on previous form. If and when you are presented with the two tracks in question (in the state we received them in), you will, I'm sure, agree that coasterdave's track is slightly better than Jakizle's. When the ratings are posted, you can try and read through my reasoning.

"Not decided if i am bothering with Round 3 or not yet"

Do as you wish mate, if you enter a coaster I will be happy to rate it, especially if it is as good as your entry was this round (because it was good). However, if you do not enter a coaster, it's half an hour less of my time I have spend rating your track to then only receive almost entirely unfounded criticism. Your decision at the end of the day, but I would hope that you would enter the next round.

"I just can't believe Jakizle lost to coasterdave"
"I'm not overly chuffed with my score either..."
and
"I have not decided whether I am bothering with round 3 or not yet"

Those comments do not say anything about the quality of your rates. My comments above are purely based on previous experiences of designers. I understand what you are saying about the judging system being rated on merits and not past personal achievements; but when people post their tracks we'll all be able to judge for ourselves as to whether you (and hyyyper) have rated the tracks properly.

I didn't want this to happen, I thank you for taking the time to rate our tracks. Please don't judge my initial reactions to the scores, I am judging by past performance.

Naw, i didnt mean it like that. I said that in the sense that jakizle has quite a good nl rep. I guess I should have worded that differently.

Also, while on the topic of rates, wouldn't it be interesting to see how differently rides are rated in the exchange if no one knew who the uploaders were?

Yeah the emo raters club rides would drop by at least 1.5

I think If no one asked any of their friends to rate their tracks, most rides' rates would be lower.
