So yesterday, three friends and I went to Great America for opening day. We got there around 9:30am so we could beat the crowds. The weather was supposed to be bad, but it was just foggy. They had there beginning ceremony which was Mr. Six and the "little six??????s" flip a switch, but no one cared about that, we were all waiting for 10:00am to come. The second it did, everyone started rushing or running to the rides. We were going to v2. Might I add too, the placed was deserted. The longest Line I had to wait in was with my friend for the season pass processing center.

It was quite foggy in the morning

This was the longest line of the day (sorry about it being wide, couldn't get the whole line in without it)

Anyway, the first ride of the day for us was V2. It was great as usual. We walked right up to the station with two people ahead of us. To me, it did seem like it was running a little fast, but that might have been just me.

Yay!

Next was Batman. It was just as empty as the other rides. and of course they were play the best song for it, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss ME, Kill Me" by U2. The ride itself was just the same, still fun though. Also, I noticed a topic on here recently about a banging noise on B&M Inverts and Batman seemed fine, I didn't hear anything.

Kinda Warped, but hey, its a cell phone picture.

Onto Ragin' Cajun, Not... It was closed for about half of the day...

from later, spun like crazy this time.

So my friend and I who are crazy about spinning rides, went on King Chaos. Do not go on this ride if you are 6'3" like me... Painful on the shoulders.

"wee! ouch!"

We decided to head over to Superman next. What??????s usually a two hour wait, was no wait, thank god. So we hop onto the back and enjoy our ride. Btw, they were only running one train. Awesome ride, but I don't understand what is so great about it, I don't know, that??????s just me. Oh! And I did notice something, what is this??

Lol natural blur or rain on lens..

Whats this?

Then came time for the one, the only, The Raging Bull. No line except for front row, but that??????s worth it. It was great, as usual, no big changes. I still love this ride. Quote of the day ??????Are you ready to make the bull your Bitch??????

"Weeeee..."

Next was my 3rd favorite ride in the park, The Giant Drop. It was a walk-on, like the whole day. This was the one thing that seemed really different to me. They were running quite slow, they were dropping at different times, and they were holding you at the top longer. It really threw me off while I was waiting at the top. I heard the click, but we didn't fall. I loved either way.

Announcer:" you guys are a depressing group, be happy"
Me: "I am happy, just freaking out!"
Other Helper: "good"

After this, we were hungry, so we headed over to Gurnee mills, Might I add, the driver were ridiculously horrible yesterday. I got cut off 5 times in just that short drive. Luckily I drive a big truck, so I would be fine if these dumbasses hit me. Anyway, they have the best Chinese food there I have ever had. The restaurant is called Chik n' Stix. It so good. I had the Chicken Teriyaki. The one thing I really like about Gurnee Mills is the have this system where you can text in what songs you want the system to play. It was awesome. After eating, my friends wanted to go browsing around the mall; I hate shopping. We wasted two hours there. So, I forced us to leave and get back to the park. Somehow along the way, I managed to lose are parking receipt. But the front gate people were awesome and let me through.

"Yummm..."

After lunch we hit the American Eagle. It was rough as usual. But one the way up the lift hill, my friend found a piece of the side cushions under the seat, I just bursted out in laughter and the people near the front were just staring at us, whatever.

"I wonder if this queue line has ever been this full"

once we stopped riding the American eagle My spinning fanatic friend and I hit up, Ragin' Cajun, Revolution, Fiddler's Fling, East River Crawler, and Hometown Fun Machine.

So feeling a little dizzy, we hopped onto the Whizzer. This was my first roller coaster, and I still live it. The station seemed freshly painted. Also they managed to advertise the living crap out the new "Karate Kid" movie. I was along the banisters, on the train cars, on the lattices, and in the exit building. It was overkill.

Text from friend: "wanna see kickass tonight""
Me: "Im on the whizzer, I'll text you back afterwards"

"advertise overkill?"

Feeling tired, we left the park after two rides on the Ricochet.
Overall, It was a great day, the weather was perfect, No lines at all, Great food. I??????m happy to be back Great America, and this will not be that last time??????

I bet the green tube is a pipe for one of the flumes. Water intake pipe or something.

I liked it because it was overcast and it wasn't raining. It was supposed to, at least where I live, which is only 45 minutes away

It was supposed to rain when I went, the air was just damp and It was pretty cold. I just saw how you said that Giant Drop was dropping at random times. I remember last year that they would all drop almost instantly when they got up there. That's how it went with S:TOP at Kentucky Kingdom too. But they run the S:TOP @ SFSL with the random drops, but they have been only running 3 of the cars since sometime last year.

I got the last ride of the night on Eagle red side AND blue side (saturday), and the last ride on Raging Bull (today). I also rode Iron Wolf about six times in a row.

Great America is a great park. I just wish they were open weekdays already [:D]

Not exactly "new" but it's new to the park. Little Dipper from Kiddieland.

I never got the chance to head down to Kiddieland to ride the little dipper, so I have no clue what its like. I'm curious about how it going to be in Great America.
