According to several press articles, Expedition GeForce in the German Holiday Park stalled yesterday at a height of 20 meters. The train got evacuated and supposedly several people got slightly injured (some suffered from shock, that's what I heard).

What's interesting is that it seems that the 4th car of the train got off the track.

If any of you can translate what's mentioned in these ^ that would be awesome.

It's dutch [;)]

Not much info in the articles. Both kinda the same:
8 people where slightly injured, the park didn't know how it did happen and the ride will remain closed for now.

But the question is, i'm looking at the images and I can't really find out where it actually stalled...

Edit:
I watched the original video now. Apparently the ride has been stalled on the 2nd airtime hill after the turnaround.

From what i've heard is that the ride was closed for maintenance on Monday and Tuesday. Apparently they have released the ride a day to soon. I also heard stories that during test rides they heard a sound that you shouldn't hear.

Looking at the video and screenshots from the video the 4th car has been derailed in some way. Too bad it had to happen. This is such a good ride.

That's crazy, good thing the train stayed intact or this would be a lot worse. Just from those pictures it looks like maybe the car came detached from the wheel assembly, which stayed in place on the track. I'm not sure how this would make the ride stall there though, that seems like somewhere where it's still moving pretty fast.

note to self: don't tell coaster-hating friends about this. Sincerely, self

But in all seriousness, a similar thing has happened before, has it not? For some reason I remember that Loch Ness monster stalled in one of the loops because of a derailment?

My grandfather asks me always about Roller Coaster crashes, for finding a reason to say they're unsafe. But this thing about Loch Ness Monster sounds horrible.Apropos accident I remember some years ago there was something, somebody was decapitated by a coaster, does somebody knows something about it,I think it was 2-3 years ago.

Here's an article with a couple better pictures, (translated by google)

http://www.bild.de/BILD/news/leserrepor ... sloch.html

In 20 meters of the roller coaster car is in a strange, sideways tilted position. For 26 some slightly injured passengers starting anxious waiting for the rescue.

The "GeForce" is one of the most spectacular rides in the world, she races down with up to 120 Km / h up to 82 degrees steep slope, it still revolves around the longitudinal axis. A real thrill.

But here is naked from the thrill of fear.

Witnesses report: "It squeaked loudly, then puff away, then some parts were flying through the area. The train drove up the rise, they rolled back slowly. People were screaming in panic, 'us out of Here! "

What had happened?

Rudi Mallasch (43) from the amusement park: "wagon train has lost four of the track guide. This immediately the emergency stop. There was however no time to risk its guests. "

With a turntable ladder fire brigade brought the people out of the car. Eight inmates complained of nausea or bruises.

Strange: The line was checked a week ago by T?????????V S?????????d. Now let an expert to determine how it could come to this incident. Until then, the roller coaster out of operation.

Already in 2009 was with the "GeForce" is a cable snapped. 28 passengers are evacuated.

I take back what I said before, it looks like the ride lost an entire wheel assembly. The only thing holding that fourth car up is its connection to the rest of the train. Sounds like it happened coming out of the first overbanked turn and the train skidded to a stop at the top of that next hill.

Glad to see parks still buying components from the lowest bidder. I think the only guarantee you will get out of the Chinese is that their components will fail and somebody is likely to get hurt.
