It seems like the pros on Coastercrazy get creative with their images. Do you guys who do those cool effects on the coaster images use Gimp? If you don't, can you tell me. I did one coaster image with Gimp, my coaster Forest Fighter. But I don't know how to do cool effects with it. Can anyone help me.

Gimp on Ubuntu sucks. I imagine that its very similar on Windows. Most user unfriendly editor ever.

I assume that most of the really intricate ones are using Photoshop.

All of my images were done with MS Paint...

My experience has not been that bad on either OS. I use the GIMP for most of my image editing needs, including screenshots.

I use this to convert any video to a gif image....

http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Dnload

Go to the VERY bottom of the page to download.
It is the best freeware i have ever downloaded. It is so easy to use and has so many options. Just look at my avatar to see what it can do. You may also remember my superman one, that was also done with super converter.

I HATE Gimp. It is so damn overcomplicated in so many ways. I have used it, but it is a last resort (before ms paint, of course).

I don't draw much of a distinction between the two because you can skin the GIMP to look like photoshop:

Personally, I prefer multiple-window layouts (thanks, MATLAB), but to each his own.

I've heard very good things about Gimp from friends, though I've never personally used it. I got Photoshop recently, though, and I love it. Whatever suits your needs, though.

Education pricing, I'm sure. It's a wonderful thing. I got Adobe's Web Premium Suite with Photoshop, Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Fireworks, Acrobat Pro, and a buch of programs I'm likely never going to use for $250 from my university's computer store.

It's funny that every program that was mentioned before your post is free and open-source.

GIMP 2.0 all the way. I have many photo manipulations that I've used GIMP with, and I love it. It's amazing, and I can't see how you guys see how it's so complicated.
Oh are you confused about where the reply is? Well look directly above this and kablammo! There it is!
