listening to rage against the machine isn't research . we all know those things happened, and none of us think they were " good" they were also all reversed. .
your suggestion that these are the things that characterize our country shows that you care more about whats " cool " to say than actual critical though. the great things this country stands for will never be overshadowed by stupid mistakes.
Rage Against the Machine? If I even knew what that was... My point being that those laws were passed because of current events that were happening during that time. I'm actually siding with Obama with this conversation because he's trying to help the country even if people cry foul. My post was meant to show others that the government has done things that were againt our rights before.
I'm not trying to be "cool"; I got over that after 7th grade.
What our country stands for is indeed a beacon of light to many oppressive countries, but the light being illuminated is covering up our own internal filth.
Thanks, Jayman, for explaining your resasoning. Now I can take what you said with consideration.
-edit-
There are not really any current laws in effect that go againt the Constitution, but there have been laws passed before and possibly one day again. However, there are laws passed that go against the Declaration of Independence which in my opinion is even more troubling.
