The fact that you're using a 3DS spine and square supports could have something to do with you not being able to finish it.

That's how I want to do it though, I cannot do that in the time-frame so I'll do it when I have the time.

Am I going to be the only one with a finished track here?

IMO a coaster of this magnitude requires WAY more time to build than your usuall ride. If you include all the fuss with the different spine and everything, plus the fact that people don't use most of their time to build coasters in NL (some have school, others work, ...) it gets quite obvious that it's almost impossible to build the coaster in the timeframe given...
I bet half the people will either post an unfinished coaster or not post at all...

Also the advantage in this case goes to whoever got the construction kit in time due to how it takes waaaaay less time to change the spine.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

This might be a stupid question, but itz might also be my last chance:
If you do a 3ds spine, is it counted as track and cannot go into the red shapes?
Also, can scenery go outside the template?

Or you could not bother doing the spine and just use the box track that has worked fine for Intamin for the last ten years. If anyone is actually this rushed for time why bother with a little detail like that?

3ds will be counted as how it is used. Spine 3ds will have to follow the track rules while 3ds-supports have to follow the same rules as the usual supports. 3ds used as scenery can go anywhere.

If I had more time I might mess around and go for it, but for a contest I'll spend my time making an exciting, good looking coaster rather than trying to learn how to add a new spine to the track.

Guys, the emphasis on the spine isn't really that big of a deal, its the whole new style intamin is using for their tracks that is hard to do. Not just a new spine, but also a new lift style/supporting method and (not really necessary but...) square supports rather than round. All of these factor into what makes a current gigacoaster.

I jumped on my work early and with what I want done, I still have quite alot of work to do...

^ The double spine is not going to be applied to all of Intamin's future rides. The only rides using the double spine are large coasters with speeds of an excess 90mph.

Didn't specify it at the beginning, but gigacoaster is said at the end.

Spine is very important. The judges are suckers for 3ds.

I wonder if I could finish off my ride in about 6 hours time. It'll be a race to the clock anyhow. For both of us! [lol]

Who cares? Using a double spine will only help your score *that* much.

Anyways, a little over 13 hours left now, you all 'bout done?
