Gaz, I love spiders too, they are very cool, and this one was a beauty. She was awesome, but I'm afraid she was going down! In the same way you could appreciate a cute little lamb, before disemboweling the thing and cooking it up [:)]

Metazoanhaddock, I would call it "large", but by England's standards of course. In another country it might be considered a fairly small spider. It's abdomen was about 12mm (1/2") in diameter, whole body was probably about an inch in length. A decent size for this country anyhow.

That loks like a good clean hit to me. I am liking how its entrails seem to have stuck to silk trail.

I do agree with you gazag that spiders are great n good to keep about for fly control but that doesn't lok like your common house spider at all. I think I would dispatched it if it ventured in my house

That's a gnarly mess man. Spiders are badass, I just can't deal with them when they move so disgustingly quick [lol] *splat goes most of 'em.

One time I shot one of those with a modified Nerf gun. It was standing on window blinds and the dart went through the blinds after splattering the guts of the spider all over the damned place. Good thing the wall was behind it instead of the window! It was a pretty small spider (~1cm) though.

And this is why I don't want to live in Australia. My aunt, who lives there obviously, has these f*ckers in her backyard all the time.

I've played two or so airsoft games. Great stuff, but I can't afford to keep up with it, so I screw around with cheap plastic toy guns more often.

I guess I'm not the only one here who reacts irrationally to spiders. As a kid, I used to yell in surprise upon seeing them. (And I've never seen one larger than 1cm either.) Now I usually flinch.

One time in driver's ed, there was one particular spider standing on the sun roof. The instructor just grabbed it with his fingers and threw it out, squeezing it dead in the process. I lol'd.
