So, with my senior year winding down and senior skip day drawing nearer my friends and I decided to make our senior skip day memorable by heading out to Cedar Point. The weather turned out to be excellent and overall we had a great day! Anyways, let us commence with the PTR!

Despite two of my friends oversleeping, we managed to leave our houses at around 6:30. After for stopping for food/gas/bathroom(which I must say is nicer in Ohio than Michigan because you can do it all in one place) we arrived at the park at right around 10. We decided to park in the Soak City lot, which was empty, so we wouldn't have to deal with all of the hustle and bustle at the front. We bought our tickets and planned to go to TTD like usual, but we hadn't seen a train pass over TTD since we entered and Magnum was a walk-on.

1. Magnum Xl-200, back row - Well, the train was only about half full so they were running it trimless. With magnum, trimless always = amazing.

After Magnum we still hadn't seen TTD running and they weren't letting people into the queue, so we headed towards Gemini. Sadly, Gemini was only running one train so we skipped it and headed towards Maverick. We saw the line was only half way through the upper, enclosed queue so we jumped all over it. The sign said 30min, but from experience I knew it would be much shorter. I was right, and we only waited 10min.

2. Maverick, back row - Awesome as usual, the airtime is second to none. The only complaint I have is that it was stacking a bit, but I guess its okay seeing as how the ride-ops are still getting used to running it this early in the season.

Yummy

Dirty car window = Kinda fail

One of my friends was an exchange student from Germany, so we made it our goal to get him on as many different rides as possible while we were there. Unfortunately, this meant riding Mean Streak...

3. Mean Streak, 2nd to back row - Ouch, even though it had a noticeable amount of retracking it still hurt a lot.

Yeah the lighting didn't come out the way I had hoped.

As we got off of the ride the CP&LE railroad train was just pulling into the station so we hopped on and rode it over to Mantis and MF. The Mantis line was on the floating part of the queue, so we decided to go there first.

4. Mantis, middle rows - Fun as usual. I love the feeling of the loop to dive loop section. The 2nd half is pretty hard on the legs, but I still like it as a whole.

From the train, so its a little crooked

I <3 the way corkscrews look

Why do I have so many pics of Mantis?

Image
Srsly, why so many pics?

After Mantis we hit up MF. The wait was around a half hour, so we figured it was reasonable.

5. Millennium Force, 3rd row - Fun, fun. MF was running well so we got some nice floater air on the hills, and it was smooth as glass as usual. Hard to believe its already 10 years old.

I love the way the hills look together

Next we grabbed some Panda Express and headed to the front of the park. While my friends were buying pizza/hot dogs I went and checked the Raptor line. It was up on the stairs we went there next. The line move quickly except for a 5min break for the cleaning up of someone's sickness.

6. Raptor, front row - Great ride. Really smooth in the front, and I love the way the drop feels from there.

Image

Image
Have I mentioned I loved corkscrews/wingovers?

Image

From the top of Raptor's lift, the area where Demon Drop used to be looked so sad and plain. All that was left is a small section of grass :(

Next up was DISASTER TRANSPORT!!!!!

7. Disaster Transport - Lame as usual, but I figured we should ride it just in case it decides to go somewhere...

Next was maXair

8. maXair - Hadn't ridden it in a while, but I remembered why. I don't do well with moving on more than one axis, so I was feeling pretty sick afterward.

We decided to go to Wicked Twister next, but it was closed for maintenance. While we were over there I did notice this...

Image
Umm...No cars on Chaos. Hopefully they just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Next up was TTD, but the line was 1hr 30min. We decided to just head to Magnum and grab another walk-on.

9. Magnum, back row - The train was full now, so we got trimmed before the turn around. Still fun though!

Gemini still wasn't racing, but we decided to go ahead and ride it anyway.

10. Gemini(blue), middle rows - It was okay. The non-racing ruined the experience for me.

We walked back to Maverick again, but the line was looking to be around an hour so we skipped it for now. Time for SkyHawk!

11. SkyHawk - Amazing as usual, the feeling at the top of the swing is great.

We noticed TTD testing, so we walked over there. The line said 45min, but since TTD had been up and down all day we got in line. To our dismay, it went down for maintenance while we were waiting for the next train to get on. Luckily it was a small fix in the station, so it only took 5min and we were able to ride it.

12 - Top Thrill Dragster, 2nd to back row - Fun as usual. We were hoping for a roll back, but it was still a great ride. I just wish it wasn't so much of a 1 trick pony.

Next we had to go to the bathroom so we went over by MF. After that we grabbed a ride on Iron Dragon.

13. Iron Dragon - Boring as usual. The mist is cool though.

We went back up to the front to get our Wicked Twister ride in.

14. Wicked Twister, back row - The launch felt really weak after TTD, but the back row on the back spike is great.

We were feeling like MF again, so we went over that way. We were shocked when we got there and found the line was all the way up to the ramp. Since it was only 15min, we waited an extra 10 for the front seat.

15. Millennium Force, front seat - Still my favorite coaster experience ever. Despite getting a bit of a bug shower, the front seat was so amazing. It gives great floater and the feeling of pure speed is un-matched.

After MF we headed to Wildcat for a walk-on.

16. Wildcat - Well, my friend and I barely fit in the seat together, so that was a little sketchy. Other than that I was shocked at how smooth.

Next we headed back to the front to do some shopping. While we were there we did Blue Streak twice and Raptor again.

17. Blue Streak, back row - So rough, but so fun. That's the difference between Blue Streak and Mean Streak. The back row of both is really rough, but Blue Streak is still a ton of fun.

18. Blue Streak, 2nd to back row - So much smoother than the very back to the point where it took fun out of the ride.

19. Raptor, back row - So much different than the front row. The back seems to motor through the elements, making them a lot more intense. The on-ride cameras are gone on the ride too, as well as every ride.

We got our shopping done and headed back towards the car. On the way out we decided to make it an even 20 on the day and rode Magnum again.

20. Magnum, Car 1 row 3, - Great trimmless ejector seat ride.

Overall a great day. We rode everything but CCMR, Corkscrew, Woodstock Express, and Jr Gemini. We also got to do some of our favorites more than once, including a front seat MF ride.

Oh, and lets not forget about Shoot the Rapids!

Yeah! I'm jealous. I have to wait till the 13th of next month to go. I'll be sure to take pictures and make a report too. Nice pictures, too bad the ones with the sun didn't turn out better. I know what look you were going for though! And I have almost the same exact MF picture, haha.

Basically the same spot! I also have this one which was pure luck.

Sorry to post pictures in your trip report, I just thought it was cool. Great pictures man!

EDIT: Nevermind. Uploaded the pictures from my computer twice and it still says they're broken. Oh well, haha.

Thanks for the comments. And I agree about it being forgettable, I almost forgot to take pictures of it until I walked by and saw it.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they finally decided to dismantle the Chaos. It's just a problematic piece of hardware. I personally recommend using a John Deere 160D excavator with a metal sheer. If you do it right you can fit the entire ride into one dumpster.

I would be happy if I could go to CP a day!
All RCCAs should be RMC'd. And that event shall be henceforth known as the Rollercaust.

One of my local parks (Lightwater Valley) has one of these, All its done is cost the park, its never working properly, always breaksdown and its not even a good ride.

Valleyfair's Chaos is fully functonial for all I know, and I usually have a good time on it. I mean it's a cool concept; if only they made it bigger and faster.

Actually... yea! I'm the Team Leader. I worked Millennium in 2008 and maXair in 2009 and I have to say that most rides with smaller crews are better. It doesn't matter what ride you work on... its who you work with! I love my job!

Doesn't surprise me one bit. They should sell it for scrap and get a proper ride, like a regular Huss Frisbee.
