Manta vs. Tatsu

I was just wondering which people thought was better, comments and explanations of people's opinions welcome.

Manta is way better, it's not even close. Manta is forceful the entire ride and has GREAT interaction with it's surrounding area. Tatsu however is super boring and forceless except for the pretzel loop...but Manta's is just as good.

Personally I think Manta is worth it even if just for the queue. You have to walk through an entire aquarium just to get to the ride. It's awesome.

Been on Tatsu, no other flying coaster. I can definitely say that Manta > Tatsu.

Manta looks sooo ugly to me though. I didn't like Tatsu's appearance and layout initially, but it's grown on me. I don't see why people like Manta so much relative to the other flyers, other than the cool section over water. I think it might just remain one of those mystery coasters to me.

the best part imo is the waterfall flyby and the interaction with the terrain.

I've ridden both of the rides and Manta is overall much more intense and has a better following up on elements. Both rides feel to short for me tho. The pretzel on Manta was smoother than on Tatsu. But that could also be the aging of the rides.

The only thing I liked about Tatsu was the 270????????? turn where it actually felt like your flying above the park. Currently Manta is one of the best flying coasters out there to me. With Air also coming close because of the lay-down part in that coaster. [:)]

dcs221, have you looked at my avatar? How can you call Manta "ugly" when Tatsu sticks out like a sore thumb? I mean the first thing you see when you walk in is the water feature and the queue makes waiting for the ride enjoyable. The ride is breathtaking to look at as well as the ground it rests on, and yet Tatsu is easier on your eyes because it's grown on you?

Dan, have your ridden Manta? It looks absolutely gorgeous in person and is super forceful the entire ride...every turn and element. Don't judge by pictures and videos ;)

When i went there i was stunned by the gorgeousness of manta the way the pretzel loop was right above the viewing area and the corkscrew over the walkway. And of course the over water part is just stunning also. I personally thought manta was very intense, and at night it happened to be one of my favorite coasters ever. The pretzel loop was incredible the way you just dive head first and get so much airtime. Then all of the rolls and the corkscrew were so cool and taken with a lot of speed. But as someone mentioned, the waterfall flyby was just amazing, especially at night. I havent ridden tatsu, but manta looks ffaaarrrrrrr beter.

I love Manta... I can safely say that I have been in every seat of every row of Manta, lol.

I would probably have to agree with the main consensus on this one, Manta is MOST LIKELY better. I haven't been on any flyers, other than vekoma, but from the looks of it, Manta probably destroys Tatsu. Personally, I am a HUGE fan of queue lines, and Manta's takes the cake as far as anything I've seen. The trains are also quite spectacular on Manta as well as terrain interaction so Manta for sure, but Tatsu still looks like a pretty fun ride.

I've only been on Superman Ultimate Flight. It's such a lame flyer.

Tatsu is just as fun as Supermans really...which isnt that fun. I was let down by how SLOW and forceful Tatsu was

Manta looks pretty slow too though...in fact, they all do lol.

I am due to ride Manta next week some time, i have ridden Tatsu before and i loved every second, especialy the pretzel on the back row.But i think Manta may take it,and slightly off topic is the waterfall archway back on(secondlift)after the refurb or will a great effect be dead forever.

im not sure if we've ridden the same tatsu. I've heard a lot of people say they prefer manta over tatsu, but i dont think you're giving tatsu it's dues. forceless it is not. it felt perfect for a flying coaster.

i have now been on the back row on manta as i have tatsu and i gota say manta has won it for me.

Yeah its great.

Manta is way better than Tatsu. Stronger forces, nice layout, better scenery....
