Just wait until you have to support the thing. HAH!! It better not be from the WSG. Ill be able to tell.

And on top of that you'll have to connect the track on almost every top lateral beam. That sounds very complex and very annoying. I would do one a day, so I won't get annoyed.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

The thread is alive once again folks.. I'm determined to make this one perfect. I'm not in vital need of testers, but if you offer to, I can email you the track.

I began working on this 12th or so attempt about a week or two ago.. what you see beyond the first picture is still being tinkered.

I thought you completely abandoned this project, but I'm glad you're working on it again. I would like to be a tester for this coaster, being that it's in my top 10, and having ridden it nearly 100 times in two days, which means that I know the layout and "feeling" the actual coaster pretty well.

Just a few things, the speed coming out of the station needs to be just a bit faster, the first turn (the one you go through right after you come out of the station) needs to be a bit longer, the turn right before the first mcbr should be a bit more smoothed out, the First mcbr seems about the right length, just needs to be going faster, and finally, the station needs to be a little bit longer.

P.S. My total ride count of California Screamin' is 87.

i don't know if its just me, but i remember the turn towards the launch wasn't banked or if it was, not as much. also, the train needs to me held longer at the launch, i think its about 10-15 seconds

You do know that hold stops aren't applicable in shuttle mode, right?

The last turn on it looks a bit tight.
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

Yeah, I also need to fix the angle of the launch, and shorten it a bit. That's pretty much all I can see that needs fixing, but I'm so surprised of how close it is

EDIT:

The above overlay was in fact off, I believe I have the portion of track spot-on now. Testers if you want me to send you this, just let me know.

No ... the 5 second countdown begins almost as soon as you halt, at least if they're running 5-6 trains to keep things moving. As soon as the other train clears the MCBR, the one at the launching area wouldn't be held up and can be launched.

That said, I would shoot for 5, MAYBE 10 tops.

The track looks good! But just curious, will you be doing any custom work with your supports or will you just leave them how they are and add bracing?

Actually the countdown doesn't begin once it's off the block. It can't even move until, in some cases of train operation, the train before the train sitting on the launch crests the giant lift (there's a block segment there), so once it does that, the block releases and begins the countdown. Small tidbit :P.

And A7X, I still haven't decided about that yet. I don't really have experience custom supporting, so I might mod the wood magic, but like I said, I still haven't decided.

^Alright sounds good. I was looking at Cal-Scr support structure, and it does look a little complex. You could probably keep the ones you have now, and just modify the area where they connect to the track. Thats the only area that I think needs to be done for better accuracy.

Perhaps stack a couple of H beams (or you could make 3ds) above the original wood magic? Then you could do the connector from the H beams to the track on the banked turns.

IDK I haven't been on Cal-Scr but that's what I sorta saw of the supporting in POVs. Whatever supporting method you decide, good luck!
