They are one of the reasons why international football IS boring. I love club football, the atmosphere is usually awesome and it's definitely not because people are blowing damn horns.
The vuvuzela makes the atmosphere a constant and monotonous noise that never picks the game up from the same rate. What happens on the pitch does draw a lot from what goes on in the stands. As the atmosphere goes up and down, as does the game. As such the tempo of the game changes and with it the tension, which in turn makes the atmosphere go up and down even more and so on. None of this is allowed to occur with the obnoxious sound of the vuvuzelas going on constantly.
The vuvuzela is bad for football.
This is the kind of atmosphere you acheive without Vuvuzelas:
The atmosphere is poor at the world cup anyway, because they have no segregation in the crowd, so no proper chants can get started because all the different fans are mixed in with each other. That makes it so that even when there's a goal, there's still not much of a change in the noise. International football really is a joke and the vuvuzelas are testiment to that.
