So, I've never really gotten to travel somewhere just to visit an amusement park, and after a lot of convincing, my mom finally agreed to let me go to Chicago to go to Six Flags Great America. the trip will be around the end of July, although I don't know the specific date yet. If anybody would like to meet up, it could easily be arranged.

Edit: ok, so i now have dates:
7/22: my mom and i will be traveling to Mt. Olympus. We'll be there all day.

7/23-24: both days will be spent at SFGAm.

People (person) who have shown interest in a meetup:
Jonny Richey

anybody else is welcome to come to any of the days if they wish. send me a pm or reply to the topic to make arrangements [:D]

Wisconsin Dells, if possible. Hades is my #1. If not Safari Land is about an hour away (closer to Chicago). See my Tiger Terror recreation.

I$ you don't have a hotel yet, stay at Key Line Cove.

Surely cyclops is better than Hades?
Boulder Dash was the only good roller coaster.

You're coming to Chicago . . . to go to Safari Land?

Seriously, just stop at Little Amerricka on your way to (or from) the Dells, you'll have much better time and get more coaster credits . . . or just stay in Great America longer. Safari Land isn't something to fly across the country for . . .

i dont go for credits...i go for the fun of it, and safari land isnt my first choice, it just happened to be there, if Little Amerricka (is that how its spelled???) has more coasters, count me in...ill skip safari land in that case....this trip is still mostly in the planning process, so nothing is completely definite. only definite things are:
1 it IS going to happen, no doubt.
2 I am definitely going to SFGAm, that's the reason for the trip. i personally would have chosen a different area for parks (no offense to those in the area) but my mom has a work trip in Chicago, so it's convenient.
3. Im going to be there for 3-4 days, so I'm able to go to 3 parks. my mom already OKed SFGAm and Mt. Olympus. the third is TBD

honestly, I have to say go to Little America instead. The mad mouse rocks, and the Meteor runs WAY better than the little dipper. What I would do is:

Stop at Safari Land on your way to Great America, and pay for one or two rides.

And make sure you visit Timber Falls if you go to the Dells.

The only problem with Safari Land is, the Tiger Terror has it's good and bad days, completely dictated by if the wheel on the drop is being used as a trim brake or as a propellant.

If you go on a weekday, they will not likely be using it as a trim brake.

I still stand by NOT flying most of the way across the country to go ride Tiger Terror . . . If you really want to ride a dumpy coaster like that, and you're going to the Dells, Minor Mike at Knuckleheads is SOOOOO much better . . .

Safari Land isn't close to anything, and seems to be out of the way if you're driving from an airport to Great America. My suggestion is spend more time in Great America on your Great America day, and ignore Safari Land.
