Ravenholm in Daylight

This is a bit of a bone being thrown to anyone who has played Half-Life 2...

So as part of my capstone class that finishes my major we went to area where a gold/silver/chromite/platimine was abandoned long ago and the place was goddamned scary cause it looked exactly like Ravenholm. Significantly more pictures (and creepier pictures) to come when I finish the class in 2-3 weeks. The damnest thing about this place is after we peeled back some bushes we found the entrance to the old mine and took that picture through a collapsed board and the whole inside was iced over with REALLY cold air puffing out of the thing. It's been inactive for at least 50 years and it wasn't below freezing at night and around 70 degrees when we took those pictures. I have no more time this week but many more photos will come in the future.

Anyways that picture is only of one building, there were many more in the area. i'll post more pictures in a couple weeks when I'm dine with school and graduated!

Damn, thats crazy. Ravenholm freaked me out when I first went through it so this is really cool. The bit about the mine entrance is awesome and quite creepy.
I'm excited to see more pics. I wonder what else is hidden around that place.

Damn I'm a HL freak..and I can say this looks awesome But the first picture looks more like the red barn in Water-Hazard :D

What is that white stuff in the last pic? Foam?

I just finished playing Half-Life 2. Ravenholm was scary! I hated it because I had almost no ammo at all.

I love HL2 and Ravenholm!The pics are awesome!And I think the white stuff is ice.

It's ice. It was around 70 degrees outside but the air coming out of that horizontal shaft was below freezing. The whole thing is decayed and rotting. Only reason we could see into that entrance was because the ice had frost wedged the blockade.

The whole area is very difficult to get into since you have to either backpack your way in via around 30 miles of hiking or have the keys to take the mine owned sketchy road on the side of a cliff.

It looks scarry and beautifull at the same time!
